What a crock. We are the paying customers that make these folks household names and millionaires. We have every right to know what the injuries are when it 100% affects how we lend our support and spend our time and money on the team.
We are paying the Kings for a service, which is entertainment. If they can't provide that entertainment because certain players can't see the floor, then we need to know about it before we spend the money on something that they damn well know they can't provide.
It's crazy how dumb Grant and the FO think we are as fans.
Exactly.
When fans are making a decision to purchase overpriced tickets to a game, or even spend valuable time watching on TV, they deserve to know what they’re gonna get in return for their investment.
Every single sports league has become ridiculous in charging premium prices in situations where the ‘A‘ list actors aren’t even appearing in the film, so-to-speak. It’s classic bait and switch.
The reason these leagues are generating so much ticket and tv revenue is due to the overwhelming fan demand to see the marquee teams and/or marquee players of said team.
Nobody cares about preseason games where the ‘B‘ players star. Nobody cares about regular season games where the ‘A‘ players are MIA or only make cameo appearances.
The fact they get away with charging premium prices w/o delivering what is advertised is criminal IMO.
I get that freak accidents and injuries can often be unavoidable. And certainly not predicted. However, not communicating to fans what’s going on and not setting expectations about what they will receive in return for their time and money is unacceptable. They’re purposely misleading fans who might otherwise forgo doing business with them.
Furthermore, resting healthy players in a game fans bought tickets to months, weeks or even days before shouldn‘t be permitted to happen. It’s criminal too. If these players need more time off and can’t play 82, they need to reduce the number of games in a season to a more acceptable amount. Why should the fans have to pay the price?
We need a “lemon law” implemented for professional sports leagues.
