The Offseason, what are the true possibilities:

Funny you mentioned Odom. That is exactly how I see Gasol will be for this team. At best, he will performed to keep his value at the cost of the team development. I don't see a guy who can't self motivate to play above and beyond on a contending team to be selfmotivated to help a bottom team rise. So a No vote on proposition twentyGasol for me.

But if it was a trade to get rid of our junk as proposed by Uncia03..I may consider that. I would not want to lose Thornton for Gasol though.

its a quick fix type thing. giving up the farm for a 2 year rental will put us in mediocrity for a long long time. i don't see gasol as the answer for this team.

I don't think Hayes, Garcia, Fredette and Outlaw are going to keep us away from mediocrity... S, if the trade is something like Uncia proposed, I'd do it. No Thornton, no 1st rounder. The benefit for the Lakers is to unload one of the worst contract in the league, so that's more than enough.

How about signing Mickael Pietrus? An SF who is a reliable shooter, a very good defender and has playoff experience. The only questionable thing is his health in my opinion; he hasn't played more than 75 games in a season. Could be a really good backup

I have always semi-liked Pietrus, but one of the costs of this huge swath of overpaid and ineffective SF roleplayers we have on the team is that we really can't afford to take any more chances on them and add even more to the problem until we clear guys out. Next SF we bring in kind of has to be able to lock down the job. Not be a stud. Just be good enough that he's the starter. Because you can't be paying 7 SFs at once and not getting 10ppg out of any of them.

Pietrus is a great role player, but he's another SG/SF tweener who's better suited as a SG. He'd be a nice luxury to have without Salmons/Garcia/Outlaw, but i'd rather spend the money on T-Will who is a better player and will likely be cheaper
