the official countdown to the lotto thread

The actual lottery is already completed by that time anyway, so just kick back and relax.
I get a nervous feeling when I read Caps post, thinking about watching the announcements for #8-#5, but also love that I know what to look for and who we want getting the #7 pick. I will try not to stress about it though. Anyone remember las year, and feeling like getting #5 would make us miss out on DMC? I felt so defeated. But it worked out, I have a really good feeling about this year, knock on wood (err IPod).

I just want the number one so we can get some hype building up. Get more people talking about the kings. It'll definitely help the arena issue as well.

I'm very nonchalant about this year's lottery, I'm not really sweating the possible results. If we move up, great, if we don't, no big deal.

Yah.. After all we have been through if we end up getting the 5th or 6th pick then it's no big deal. I am already committed to watching them anyway 41 times this year ;)

Me too. I'm almost scared of what happens if this team moves up to #1. If the Kings draft Irving and let Thornton go I'll be ANGRY!!!

Considering the fact that he's going to be at the lottery party along with his family (and flying them across the country for the first time ever to boot), I'm thinking that the chances of this happening are shrinking by the minute unless some team inexplicably offers him a max contract.

But beno is under contract while Thornton is a free agent. I know we can match any offers he gets but I don't want him thinking there isn't the same oppurinity over here for him as opposed to another team.

I'm sure everything will be fine though

I just hope KJ does not get stuck with his "lucky" former NBA number. Please at least 1, 2, 3, or no worse than 5. Somehow, if it's 5-8 I would be not surprised if Kings deal the pick.

They won't get much for it.. I would rather just take a SF like Hamilton if that were the case. I can see us maybe trading ours for a mid teens pick, and a late 1st rounder and using them to stash players overseas or something.
