The Kings suck without Cousins

I'm honestly sick of this narrative. No freaking duh we're worse without Cousins. I'm tired of all the "haha, look how right I am about how bad this team is without Cousins" comments.

There isn't a team in the NBA that can absorb losing their top 10 player. Just go down the line. How many wins for the Warriors without Steph? Thunder without Durant or Westbrook? Cleveland without LeBron? Houston without Harden? Clips without CP3 or Blake? It's a star driven league people and the only team that's managed to do win without a true star in the last 15 years (although Kawhi is there now), are the Spurs.

Next, let's add in the fact that we don't have the luxury of having a program in place, like basically every other good team in the NBA. OKC players, even with a new coach, understand how the fit in with Westbrook and Durant and what they're supposed to around them. So when one of them go down, they obviously can't replace the production, but they can continue chugging along in a winning system for awhile.

Even though we're a "veteran" team, that experience doesn't really matter because this team doesn't know how to play with each other. And for some reason, I'll trust and give more time to the 1000 win coach that he can get this team playing together and get the rotation ironed out.

The fire Karl comments and the general animosity towards him is flat out ridiculous. We're 5 games into his coaching regime (yes, last year didn't count, this roster is completely different) and 2 without our best player. And the three with him on the floor were solid enough games.
Didn't the Clippers go like 22-3 with Blake and DC starting like 2 years ago when CP3 went down mid season? Also the Thunder were an above 500. regardless of if one of WB/KD missed a game

That's the key though.

There are basically 9 in prime superstars in the league right now, And 4 of them are paired up in OKC and LAC, and so can pick up the slack if their fellow star goes down.

2 of the 5 others are on teams so deep in talent they met int eh Finals last year (and in Love Bron even has the guy who would be the 10th superstar if he had not left Minny).

That leaves Boogie, Brow and Harden as the cannot go downs, and Harden thus far has had the good sense not to miss time.

I would love to have DeMarcus back. That's my running mate," Gay said. "We need him back. That's reason why I've been playing terribly."

Gay and Cousins are dam solid together. But please dear god Karl dont put Rudy at the 4. The key to our season is Rudy at the 3

Blow it all up. Start over. Again. Get a top pick for Cousins.

yeah right.

draft 5-10 more years hoping to get another star!

The Sixers thing seems to have infected too many brains. We've already been down for a decade, we have the talent to win now, so I say how about showing some saavy for once and making the little moves to make it happen now while we have the chance.

Luckily, I think Vlade is the right person to do just that.

and it's not even clear if "the sixers thing" is going to work. they've got a few intriguing young pieces, but when will they produce a winning team? 2018? 2020? that's quite an experiment in long-term suckitude if those intriguing young pieces don't turn into legitimate impact players that fit together on something that resembles a cohesive roster able enough to overcome a well-established losing culture...

I actually think that it's more important that Cousins play at the 5, than it is Rudy not playing at the 4. Doesn't seem to be in the cards though, with Willie and Koufos....at least in the current offensive style
