I'm generally not a fan of 2k style I could make better trades scenarios but I have come to the reluctant conclusion despite like Monte from one side of the coin, that the dude could not negotiate for the life of him and that nearly every single deal we made he either received too little in return, or threw away/mismanaged draft capital to get it over the line. The Kings should have received a FRP from the Pacers to make this deal happen. Had it been their 22 pick we then draft Sharpe or Benn and we likely do the Monk deal but skip Huerter and the pick nightmare that followed.
Despite poor asset management it may be cruel irony that Monte's ultimate undoing was being unable to get a player Fox approved of to Sac without surrendering future first round compensation that was deemed too risky if Fox still left and the team continued to regress.
I don't have nearly as much faith in Perry's talent evaluation skills but I am sure he won't continuously get hustled by every other GM in the league.
