No I'm not, if you think arguing the positives of Hali compared to Luka is dismissive in any way then clearly you have a preset view of Haliburton so there's no reason to even discuss this. You saw a post discussing the value of "leadership" and saw the name Rondo, the problem was it wasn't comparing Haliburton to Rondo as a talent or player. And this isn't some comparison between a role player and Haliburton in this hypothetical. Denver has a 3 time time MVP on their roster. Not saying Haliburton maybe doesn't win one at some point, but it's not necessarily equal at this point either.
“Maybe, I remember hearing the same things about Rondo back in the day though”

This is your response to a post saying they would choose Hali over Luka, with his leadership being one of the key reasons why. How you throwing Rondo in your response not comparing them both? There’s no other interpretation, but yes it’s pretty dumb to begin with so I understand the backtrack and will accept

I wasn't referencing his team accomplishments from his first year. Rather that his style of play and leadership qualities tend to elevate any player

I know, and I'm not denying any of that and even said putting Luka on this Pacers squad could very easily change their dynamic and make them less than, but we were talking about starting from the ground up. Chris Paul had the same abilities, but he never quite got to the Magic level. Luka has already proven to be a top 5 type in his career so while there are arguments both ways in building from the ground up even if eventually surpassed I'd stick with that one for the time being. Time could easily change that. Luka obviously has downsides and in a lot of ways we now will see what Luka is since he's under those bright LA lights. Play time is over for him, haha. If he fails he's getting chewed up and spit out.

Because it was made in direct reference to LEADERSHIP and the value of such. I wasn't even comparing them, I was comparing the fact that we heard the same LEADERSHIP arguments with Rondo. That's all. I can't make it any more clear than that. Hopefully that provides the context you needed because I think you saw the name Rondo and immediately assumed I was saying Hali was the new Rondo even though they are similar in the sense that they run a team in more of a make it flow type of way, rather than a traditional superstar way.

Yah it’s me and the others who responded incredulously to your Rondo comment that need help reading better. It’s definitely not you. I provided you the direct quote from you, again no other interpretation but it is what it is

Yep, "parity" is about to go POOF! lol.

ESPN and the nba suck so much this is 99% there fault the presentation last night was bad no anthem, no lineup, Richard Jefferson on the call, and the halftime is an embarrassment not that I watched. They also spent the whole year talking about lebron and Steph casuls probably didn’t know how good Indiana and OKC were.

Doris Burke is enough to cause a lack of enthusiasm from fans and casual viewer alike. It appears that her job is in jeopardy, and rightly so.

I'll give her a bit of a break since she is/was a Providence Friar along with Devin Carter.

Some days ago everybody was going against her cause she mentioned "and that's why people call SGA a free throw merchant" and yesterday she was like a Thunder announcer trying to prove the opposite (Jefferson too, "Indiana was lucky" was mentioned quite a few times way before the final shot from Hali).

As I wrote to several greek pages yesterday... "a moment of silence for all that snubbed the Game1 of the Finals because there were no big market teams competing".
All this "the finals nobody asked for" is major bulls***, others wrote that it's pointless to watch finals without "stars with personality" playing etc etc etc., which makes zero sense especially since all those superstars, or the big personalities were eliminated by those two teams that left.

I’m sure the ratings were poor because the Thunder were expected to curb stomp the Pacers. I’d imagine numbers look better on Sunday. Plus I’d imagine not many Celtic or Knicks fans tuned in (huge fan bases and their end of seasons were too painful)

They haven't shown the opening introductions for many years now.
No anthem, though, I agree with you...That was weird.
I hope that now, with the new media deal, the player introductions come back. I expect them to, at least during the finals. If they don't, I say we all riot!!!

It’s just weird treated it like a normal game in November it was all over Twitter about anthem, intro, and no finals decals. Multiple athletes were tweeting about it that’s when you know it’s bad hopefully they improve.

NBC has said they’ll be doing intros even for regular season games

Some of you can't get out of your own way.

Instead of just getting to enjoy a great finals and a great Pacers run, you have to make outlandish bullcrap up like how Hali is a generational player and how stupid the kings are and how dumb some people are for liking Domas, even though its been proven their impact is basically the same

Its grueling to read

Surround Domas with a bunch of strong 3-and-D guys who know to push the hell out of the pace and have him play in the eastern conference and then have all the teams that he played in the playoffs have their best players suffer catastrophic career ending level injuries and then see what happens.

Yea, exactly. Again, not to take anything from Halis awesome run. He's been incredible. But calling him generational is stupid. And not acknowledging they've had some really good fortune on so many comebacks and injuries and last second shots. But all of that is apart of the small sample in the playoffs; random crap and positive variance can go crazy

Keep in mind his regular season run in the previous season, before his injury

Have they always had 2 days between games in the finals? I would rather it go game one (1 day rest) game 2 (2 day rest switching cities) game 3 (1 day rest) game 4 (2 day rest) game 5 (1 day rest) game 6 (1 day rest) game 7 (2 day rest)

Never thought of it, but the NBA always targets Sunday as a big game day. The last few seasons it felt like the finals dragged and dragged from one game to another.

I’d imagine we are far enough removed from the regular season that the fans of the 28 teams not in the finals are itching for the season to end and the hope of the offseason to begin.
