I wanted to start a quick thank you thread for Coach Corbin. Yeah he couldn't coach for **** but man he was by far the biggest victim throughout this mess and handled the situation better than most would.

I am very happy with the decision to move him to the front office. This is great for both parties.

He brings something that this front office desperately needs... class.

I was thinking about making this thread too. He's one of the strong souls DMC was talking about.

Despite all of the backlash and the hate for Corbin's technical skills, he stuck with it and accepted his role rather than run away from the Sacramento mess. If he had run away, who knows how deep down in feces this team would be in? Thank you, Ty, a professional.

mmm...can't do it.

Wish him no ill will as he has always seemed, coaching or as a player, like a class guy, but his tenure was ruinous, his coaching stupid (and possibly compromised by front office interference), and the damage to his career his own doing. He should never have accepted that position under those circumstances. His chances at another head coaching job after bombing out of Utah weren't high, but in a few years who knows. Now he's a 2-time loser involved in one of the uglier coaching messes in recent memory. He may never get another shot.

So, I'll sign onto a "good luck Ty Corbin" thread, but I can't thank him for his part in yet another dark moment in Kings history.

... This entire post is very unnecessary.

Yikes, for crying out loud. I mean really? This makes me very upset.

It is nonetheless his legacy here. I'm dead serious, and am on record as much when he did it, that he should not have accepted this position. That was his choice. Hence the gap between "good luck Ty Corbin" for a decent man, and "thank you Ty Corbin"...for what? The whole tenure was just ruinous for him and us.

Wait'll you see what I say in the "thank you PDA thread".

Thanks Ty for staying professional through a tough situation. I'm sure things didn't work out like you hoped, but you showed nothing but class throughout. I hope you enjoy the remainder of this year as an advisor and I wish you good luck in the future whether it be here or elsewhere.

I'm somewhere in the middle between the original poster and Bricklayer. I'm glad he took it like a professional and that he was a class act, but as someone stated above for giving him credit for not running away... I ask why would he? The guy gets paid millions a sum of money most people dream of, myself included. For all we know maybe he was promised a spot in the FO as incentive to stay on as coach. I just can't get behind that. I have bad days, weeks, even months sometimes and I don't quit. I pony up take it like a man and do my job. I'm not going to give anyone credit for that. Sorry.

He could have been treated better. I don't disagree with that. At the same time he could have coached better. I feel like a quick thank you and good luck is all that's needed. I'm not going to feel sorry for a guy making millions being the head coach of a freakin NBA team who was just hired into the FO, willingly I might add. Can't have been that bad then.

Thank you, Ty Corbin, for being put into a situation you did not ask for, could not control and really had nowhere to go but down. You were a class act and never allowed yourself to be drawn into the way too public drama. I wish you the best of luck in whatever course you choose to follow.

Come on, Brick. These "thank you" threads aren't the place to take a last final jab at someone, and they never have been. Corbin has taken flak in virtually every other thread. It wouldn't hurt you to just not post in this one.

Thanks for bringing us the title... even if it was in the Summer League. But I am sure it looks nice in Vivek's office.

Sorry you got jerked around.

For the record, I didn't say that I disagreed with you, I just said that your post was unnecessary. We're not compelled to post in every thread; hell, we don't even have to read them all. ;)

I think in one of his last interviews he said that he still can act as a role model in how to behave when in an upsetting situation. That's cool.

Thanks Coach Corbin.

You were put in a bad situation and you handled it with Class and dignity.

You are a very good assistant coach and I am sure you will be coaching somewhere soon.

Hopefully, you can stay on as a role model and as someone the players can talk to, now that you are not burdened with the Head Coach title.

Mmm, I was that person. Maybe as to rephrase, yet still to reflect some ideology: he didn't NOT try. Not trying is the same as running away. He had some semblance of pride, at least, even when some of his players did not.

I can see where you are coming from. I'm purely thanking him for his professionalism not his contribution and nothing else. He deserves that much.

thank him for what? he was doing a phenomenal job being the tank commander, that's for sure. So we have yet to see if it pays off in seasons end.

Really sorry you can't. Thanks Mr. Corbin. I'm sorry everyone can't see that your coaching skills were grossly compromised by circumstances well beyond your control.

Thank you Ty Corbin. I believe you were complicit in a tank job, and you've landed with a mail-it-in job for the rest of the year, and I didn't really want to tank but now that it is in the rear view mirror I guess I gotta recognize. We will get a draft pick, maybe it becomes a valuable trade piece. I honestly believe there is no chance we get that draft pick without you. So, thanks.

Karl is here. We aren't that getting that draft pick.

It's a thank you thread... Not a bash the guy thread. You could have kept it at "good luck!" You should know that we don't bash in these threads.

Thanks Tyrone! Good luck in the future!
