Thank You Keon

Utterly bizarre how it all played out with him. He’s flawed but legitimately a rotational player. Not one of the squint our eyes and pretend they’re good guys we’ve had over the last decade.
I guess now the good thing is we can see how he fits on a serious team. If he doesn't get the Mike Brown treatment I wonder what that says about Mike. Not really concerned with if Doug is an NBA coach right this minute.

Keon, you gave everything to Sacramento that we needed.. energy, defense, hustle. We'll continue to watch you whatever team you're on. Thank you for all of the excitement you brought to every game. We will miss you!

Fun to watch, I hope he finds a long term home either there or somewhere else if he ends up a rental
Apparently there are restrictions on what they can extend him for but I'm not sure if that's an extension or even in unrestricted FA. I guess because of the stupid way his contract was converted, we count the total time with the Kings for Bird rights, but he may only have 2.5 years of service on this deal transferred to Cavs which would limit them to 14m per.

I just don’t know if they can afford to keep him. They will be way over the second apron if they give him that deal, I gotta assume that kind of money might be reserved for The Retirement Tour.

I get why they'd be interested in that but that is about as unserious signing unless it is a vet minimum as any team could make.

You think LeBron will sign for the vet minimum?
No I don't, but if they give him bajillions they also aren't going to win a thing so they're wasting everyone else on the team's time so they can give the guy who left them twice another "I'm so wonderful I love Cleveland" homecoming.

Mitchell, prime Mobley and LeBron would be pretty tough in the east. I wonder if the lakers sign and trade LeBron and a first to the Cavs for Allen.

Maybe. Honestly his great great great grandchildren will never be poor. If he wants to give back in any way maybe its not taking a team crippling contract that requires them to shed money and just going there within whatever cap space they have. Like get a contributor with Allen's space if needed.
