Tarik Black is a Kansas product who has been backing up Dwight Howard but got released to make room for Josh Smith. He is a 24-yr old rookie, 6-11 and 250, shoots 54% and had 15 reb in a recent game and started 12 gm when Howard was out. Sure seems an excellent choice behind Cuz.

I'm game. Especially if he clears waivers. I don't he gets past Philly though. They need to add salary and love young players.

First of all if Tarik Black is 6''11 than Cousins is 7'4, he's not even close to 6'11 I would be shocked if he's over 6'7, 2nd he's basically a inexperienced version of Reggie Evans and has little to no talent. He can't shot, he can't block shots or stop anyone and he really was not that good a finisher when you consider the amount of times Harden spoon feed him.

They kept Joey Dorsey over him.......yeah.

Black was the only one without a guaranteed contract. Dorsey has a 2 year deal.

Draftexpress has him listed as 6'7.5'' without shoes with a 7' 2.75" wingspan and an 8' 11" standing reach.

Yeah, you beat me to it. He measured out at 6'8.5" in shoes, so he actually a bit undersized for the PF position much less the center position. Although he went to Kansas, it was only for his senior year. His first three years he attended Memphis. He was nothing special in college. Not a shotblocker, and just an average rebounder.

Good pick-up for them. Regardless of size, he was productive in his minutes and productive bigs don't stay without jobs for long.
