T-Will @ backup point.

It's Clear IT should be the starting point guard but IMO T-Will might be able to find his niche on this squad backing up IT. It would be an added dimension that few other teams have. T-Will has shown the ability to find the open man and most importantly in rhythm add to that his incredible speed and ability to rebound and defend several positions I think it would work out. Jimmer obviously would be the odd man out and Garcia is expiring soon so there would be room on the roster for him.

THOUGHTS:

Thought is, too many people are forgetting about this.

6:45 mark is what I'm referring too.

Pretty cocky for a guy with a losing record. This is the first time I have heard a coach say he played another player at a position he was not used to because he wanted him to be better at his natural position the next year. I am referring to 6:45 where he says he played Tyreke at the 3 so Tyreke could come back the next year and be a better PG. I think most coaches would give a guy another year at what the coach thinks is his best position rather than wasting the year.

I am all for bringing TWill back. What his position is isn't that important. I think he has the strength and athelticsim to handle many 3s, he has the vision to play some PG, and he has the all around game to help no matter where he plays.

I have no idea what Smart was thinking with that comment and quite honestly i hope it's not true.

I think what he means to say is I made a **** up.

This!

I liked what Evans - Williams tandem showed this year and T-Will is so versatile you can pretty much plug and play him anywhere and it gives us so much flexibility in so many situations. I doubt we bring him back but he would be on my re-sign list right after JT.

He's pretty much a poor man's Tyreke, with a passing instinct rather than a scoring one. Like Tyreke scoring despite poor shooting, TWill is a bit turnover prone.
On a team with undersized scorers, TWill definitely has a place. If they could drop one of MT/Jimmer/IT, then the Kings could have a pair of guard combos that would work. TWill backing up Reke, and Jimmer behind IT. Add a shooter starting at SF, and then there's really something.

T-Will was the best perimeter defender the Kings had, a good rebounder, pretty good ball handler, and satisfactory outside shooter. Frankly, the only thing he can't do better than Tyreke is drive the ball to the basket. He's the most athletic guy the Kings have on their roster. Also, out of all the guys on the Kings, he seemed to get it that you want to get Jimmer the ball when he's open. He gets some IQ points for that. So, yes, I'd bring him back, although I did notice that Napier didn't seem too high about him from his comments at the end of the season. Maybe T-Will personality reared it's ugly head at the end of the season?

If we get Barnes, and IF Evans actually has an improved shot next year, I think we'd be able to get away with a Reke/Twill/Barnes 1/2/3....Which would be pretty sick.
