Vince Carter has fouled out of the game. Amare and Raja Bell are both out for the Suns. Each team has scored 10 points in OT...if this game goes double OT, there's an outside shot one of these teams could reach 160.

What in the world are you talking about...Kidd is literally at the top of the game. Its a shame the rest of the team is not following suit.
In fact over the last three years since the knee injury, Kidd is doing better in terms of triple doubles than in any other period of his career. So its impossible to say that he's slowed down.
We need somebody that can get triple doubles while they're "barely able to move."

Talk about living in a fantasy world... have you seen that guy play in the last 2 years ? Exactly how many triple doubles did he have since the trade? Exactly how many times was he not outplayed by the PF on the opposite team ? Not that the guys that we got are any better, but this still sounds like a bad joke.

I wonder how many of A.I.'s teammates have EVER had a triple double? Damn hard to do when your teammate is playing keepaway with the ball. Suffice it to sya that as he merely averaged yet *hohum* another double doubel last year and can still pass as few big men in history, had he actually been allowed to toucht the ball I would imagine he would have added yet a few more to his triple ouble total.

That's the grade thread from the last game Webber played as a King. yeah, he was horrible.
If he hadn't been traded, he would have found a way to continue to contribute here. Yes, he's a lesser player than he was before the knee. But look around. Who isn't?
We could have pulled the trigger on a Peja-Artest trade sooner and maybe, just maybe, we'd all be a lot happier right now.

Irrelevant, but Iggy has had two throughout his career with the Sixers. 1 was 18 11 and 10 steals and the other was 27 13 and 10 assists

Ah, good old "one game argument"... I was wondering when it was coming.
Webber as of right now may be the only sub .400 PF in the league, I guess that's Iverson's fault too (not even going to talk about Webber's "contribution" on the other side of the floor where my grandma could go around him). If he was to be our number one option still, we would be doing worse than we are now. Anyway, Iverson seems to be heading out of there anyway, we will see how that affects Webber's numbers, or Sixers performance.
The knee excuse: Yes, it's a bad injury and of course he wasn't going to be the same player afterwards, but it's partly his fault that he is not a better player now because he did not work on his game early on in his career and relied entirely on his athletic talent (and silly jumpshots). He also gained weight, instead of trying to lose some to keep his mobility and put less pressure on his knees. (Words of Norm Van Lier before Chicago-Philly game)
As for Pedja-Artest comment - we are still to see if the Kings are a better team with or without Pedja. Yes, they were injected with that energy surge after the trade and played inspired basketball, but this year the team seems to be heading towards the same 45% winning season they had while Pedja was here. Defensive problems are almost exactly the same as last year and I don't think that offense is any better either.
If that's what makes you happy, THAT'S GREAT!

why would laugh at that. you can try to give reasons but the record with peja was much better than what you have with artest. Peja played like an mvp for most of a season and then you know what happened. Artest is yet to show that he can do that for three games in a row.
kings last season were better with artest than with peja but that was because peja was really frustrated here and wanted out, you can say the same thing for the pacers who were better off with peja than with artest and heck, they even thought they were better off without artest though he was on their roster.

Give it a rest. The whole Peja argument is over and done with. You poking sticks at it won't bring it back to life...
Since this is obviously going far afield from the original discussion and becoming something we've all grown more than tired of, I'm tempted to put it out of its misery. I'll hold off ... for now. But, if this becomes just another rehash of the stuff that was so full of venom and vitriol before, it will be closed.
There is nothing new to be said about the old Webber-Peja stuff and there's very little to be said about the Artest-Peja trade.

Most of this stuff pre-dated you being a member here. It goes back to the Webber injury, when Webber came back, etc. Those who are currently involved in this thread know full well what I'm talking about.
At this point, I'm just closing this thread as it has ceased to have any kind of value whatsoever.
