You have a handful of adequate to pretty good big men on your team. You:
a) forget they exist and decide to take several hundred stupid jump shots
b) ignore their calls for the ball
c) decide to play Francisco Farcia at PF
d) forget how to play defense
e) all of the above.

It looks like everybody not named DeMarcus Cousins or Jason Thompson had a little too much fun on New Years Eve. That's the explanation I can give for the complete lack of effort on the part of the team last night.

Beno decided to roll back the clock to the 17 win season with an astounding performance in which he failed to really do anything positive on the night.

Tyreke and Carmelo went head to head in quest to figure out ways to outsuck each other, culminating in Melo accidentally hitting some shots and making himself look competent.

Noted superstar Francisco Garcia, now reduced to little more than a three point specialist, even failed in that respect tonight, achieving truly astonishing numbers from behind the arc.

Jermaine Taylor showed everybody exactly why Houston was willing to discard him by taking six ill-advised shots and generally figuring out ways to make JR Smith look like Larry Bird.

Carl Landry played 23 minutes and scored 13 points while also making such luminaries s Nene and Sheldon "The Seven Head" Williams look like the second coming of Patrick Ewing. This was the only line-up in the league against which Landry could actually look tall but he still managed to only snag 3 rebounds, all of which he seemed to come into having by accidental means. His shoe also seemed to have a magnet that attracted the ball as in the third quarter alone, he managed to dribble the ball off of his foot a good five or so times, often resulting in disaster as a Nugget player wound up with the ball and tossed it over to the waiting dude under our basket for the dunk.

Award Time

TDM: I have never heard of Gary Forbes in my life and doubt that I ever will again.
JHA: Pooh Jeter who honestly played like his namesake tonight.
RA&1: Carmelo Anthony.
MM: Jermaine Taylor
SAR: Sammy D, who played like Dikembe Mutumbo... when he was playing with Houston a few years ago.
Andres Nocioni Award for Distinguished Shot Selection: Francisco "Broadside of a Barn" Garcia
Golden Powerpoint of the Day sponsored by Kenny Natt: Paul Westphal.
Don Nelson Award for Excellence in Smallball proficiency: Cousins/Garcia/Tyreke/Beno/Jeter. Who needs five big men when you could pull a Nellie?
WTF Moment of the Game: That I watched the whole damn thing.

If Beno playing like crap can get us 17 wins this season, I'll take it.

Beno was actually playing well for us in the 17 win season, and more or less has been since. Or was it that long ago that we signed him and I just don't remember? Anyway... Anyone else feel that Jeter is getting too much PT? Just look at what he's been giving us in the past few games. I bet loads of players are salivating over the amount of playing time he gets, considering he doesn't actually do anything other than let opponents score easily over him

I think Beno has played consistently. Just because he has an off game, don't blame it on him. Kings are just a AWFUL team....PERIOD. Kings won't win 17 games this season.

I'm not blaming him. I think he has probably been our best and most consistent player this year. I was just replying to Tetsujin's remark that he reverted to the 17-win season, saying that I would take 17 wins even if it means having Beno play like crap all season.

I thought all Sunday games this year were 3 PM games. Did this one get changed to 6 PM recently, or was it always 6?

I can't wait til the Kings killer Steve Nash has another 20+ point game and 10+ assist night with a very high efficient rate in the lines of 10-12. He won't miss very much tonight and he will keep doing the pick and roll with Hakim Warrick all night long and we won't know how to stop it. Vince might go off as well if you don't watch out. Please, for the love of all mighty, try to play competitive. The Suns aren't very good, they are a mediocre team. I am hoping maybe the Kings can show up for this one.

Even With Beno playing well the Kings will be crap, Beno cannot be a offensive focal point if this team wants to suceed, offense needs to be focused on Cousins and Tyreke, not centered around Beno, Beno is just a roleplayer

3 guards lineup has not worked all year. Yet PW keeps trying it. we were down 5 when he tried it then bam we were down 15 before he went away from him.

PS GO KINGS!!!!!!!
I like watching us play uptempo teams like the Suns because it forces us to play with more of a run and gun style which I think we play better with. PW's plays are so inneffective, either by our team's execution or their design but in a fast-paced game against a team that plays weak defense, there is more room for improvisation. Either way I love the Suns so if we lose this one I won't feel as bad lol.

New member here (though not sure I actually am one as I cannot access my profile), not new however to Kings fandom...

Stumbled across this treasure-trove of Kings info and thought I would join up as I live and breathe Kings...Hard as it is these days...

Anyway, hopefully we can steal a game here and continue building on a season that has lots of promise that remains hidden so far...

Go Kings!!!

After having to endure Kings basketball on top of the lazy Nuggets announcers, the Suns broadcast team has already turned this into an A+ game.

New rule: If you shoot a long jumpshot within the first 5 seconds of the shot clock (unless you're catching the defense off-guard in transition), Slamson will come out and shoot you in the back of the head with a paintball gun. If the game ends and you have 3 or 4 paint splotches on your head, you've been a very bad boy. *glaring in the general direction of Tyreke and Francisco*

Cisco has been good this game, I like his activity inside.

Reke/Beno : combined 0-7. Thats troubling. Hopefully at least one of the two can pick it up.
