Stojakovic @ B92: Webber didn't leave because of me.

Darius is rock solid no doubt. In some respects, although he certainly is not the superstar that Webber is, he fits in better with our overall style of play right now. What I mean by that is, we seem to do a much better job when we up the energy and move the ball more.
What was odd to me was when Webb was out on the floor, the rest of the team seemed to relax. Maybe they felt that "superman" was in and they could go for the ride. Maybe some really did resent his judgemental nature and resultant comments with the press and thought "okay tought guy, lets see what you can do".
Its hard to judge the guy for being judgemental ... if we as fans are frustrated with a lack of a championship, how much more Webb?
As far as Peja goes, he needs to actually perform like a member of this team or get the hell out .... I don't give a darn about his problems with other team members. It's really frustrating to realize you have one of the best in the league sitting on the bench, paying him a huge salary, and him playing to half his potential.

Yes, and it is getting very silly, don't you think?

Let's analyze VERY word he says and try to find a way to interpret it as something bad.

yeah, the overanalyzing is a little silly. It was silly with Webb, and it's even sillier with Peja. For gosh sake's, English isn't even his first language, and we're going to pick apart his sentences?

That said, there was a rift between Peja and Webber, and I'm sure it was part of Petrie's/Maloof's motivation for this move. If you have to pick a player of the two, I'd say you go with the healthy younger guy, as much as my heart tells me to go with Webb for his passion and desire. Regardless of how they feel about eachother, or how serious the rift was, I am glad they both are taking the higher road and expressing only respect for eachother. After being teammates for so long they owe it to eachother.

TheSerbianQueen and everyone complaining about the over-analysis of Pedja's comments - FROM VF21 THE KINGS FAN

How ironic. Are you trying to say that people, especially some, didn't analyze every single word Webber said or didn't say? That they didn't try to find something, anything, etc. to use to criticize or villefy him?

Granted, we all need to stop and move on but for SOME people to step up and defend poor little Peja against all these nasty people trying to read things into his comments is just a tad hypocritical, don't you think?

WE NEED TO MOVE ON. WE NEED TO GET PAST THIS. WE NEED to support our team and its players. Even the ones who said they didn't want to be here.

I'm sorry but in a way this is something Pedja is just going to have to get used to. It happened to Webber all the time, and now it's going to happen to Pedja.

Obviously, you will disagree with me on this point, but I do think that we should scrutinize Pedja as much as we did Webber. Not out of some notion of fairness, but because the team needs him to produce the best basketball of his life.

The only mitigating factor in Pedja's favor is that he is not making that much money - yet.

bozzwell - I have no problem whatsoever with scrutinizing Peja. If he's going to be the ONE on the team, he's going to have to learn to take the heat.

What I actually was referring to was how ironic it was that while Webber was always the target, Pedja is already being defended from critical comments.

I just want this whole thing to go forward and not dwell forever in the Webber-Peja controversy. For good, bad or whatever, that's over and Peja is the one still here after the dust has settled. He has to step up and convince me, at the personal VF21 fan, that they made the right decision...

Just my three cents as a long-time Kings fan.

Oh, don't get me wrong - we agree on the Kings-fan level, I am just looking forward to Pedja being held up to even higher standards then up to now.

Haters and boosters will always have their own reasons, even if Pedja ends up with Bird stats from now on (25-7-7) or totally flops.
