Stockton Kings open thread 2026

He's shown it pretty much every single g league game he's played. Im glad he's getting work, finally, but we need to get an NBA sample going.

His counting stats in NBA games are meh, but I've always thought that he's passed the eye test in his limited NBA minutes as far as making a positive impact goes.

I'm really hoping we hold on to him and he actually gets minutes in the latter half of the season. I'd way rather see him than Schroeder, that's for sure!

I wonder if his shoulder will always be a problem.

Looked like his calf or something with his leg was a problem last night.

Had a more efficient game yesterday but still spammed 3s too much. Had a weird defensive game where he played like Westbrook. Had no interest in staying in front of anyone but would explode randomly to create turnovers and block 3pt shooters. Not sure if it was because his leg was bugging him or what.

He also didn't start, which was odd, but that's on par for this franchise.

Stockton Kings are down 1 point at halftime to the South Bay Lakers in the Western Conference final, 55-56.

Imagine if they still had Cardwell and Plowden though
I was really hoping that the Sacramento club was going to send plodding back to Stockton for the last game. Two great seasons back to back and I know it’s really unpopular to say nice things about the kings management and talent assessment but it’s not an accident or a fluke that they put two solid teams together back to back and consistently managed to get second rounders and undrafted play players who are high quality. Again, I know the popular narrative is that “the kings have blown the draft and will no doubt pick a loser at five or later.” But this is actual evidence that they seem fully capable of picking the quality players that get overlooked for the shiny objects in the media..
