lewis deserves to be in the all star game, you clearly dont watch him play. you are just angry they chose him over cwebb, but i think thats the best thing that could happen to the kings. all star games arent good for us, remember what happened to brad last time?
Yes, I recall what happened to Brad, and I don't watch many Seattle games. But just b/c Brad got injured does not mean, imho, that we should hope no Kings make the All Star game in the future.
Yes, I'm making my comments based on cumulative stats for this season.
I wouldn't say I'm "angry" about Lewis being chosen over CWebb, but did he really "deserve" to be chosen over CWebb if you line their stats up against other guys that play similar positions? How many guys that play PF can trot out CWebb's stats across the board? Very few. Dirk scores a more and rebounds the same. KG and Duncan score and rebound a bit more. KG has the assist numbers. But that's it.
As for Lewis, Carmelo has virtually identical numbers, and people call him one dimensional. Marion's rebounding numbers almost double Lewis'. Corey Maggette's numbers are identical in scoring and rebounding, but he gets almost two more assists per game. Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson are only behind Lewis by about 4 points per game, but have his rebounding and assist numbers (and let's not forget that they play on the same team as Amare and Marion). Peja's numbers compare pretty favorably with Lewis' numbers (rebounds are off by 1 per game).
I guess my point is that I don't see what Lewis does to greatly differentiate himself from the other SFs in the Western Conference. He's not the worst all star selection of all time --- far from it. But an all star in this western conference as a forward? I think it's a bit of a stretch.
And, yes, I'm railing on lewis because he was selected over CWebb.
