Oh, I absolutely agree. Simmons has flip-flopped on both KG and AI this season, he used to write pieces that question them more then anything. Maybe it is something to do with the fact that he is actually attending NBA games now and he is learning to appreciate AI from up close, but by no means is his endorsement something that I would act upon (if I owned Kings). However, he is 100% correct about how big AI is as a figure in today's NBA and I am sure that Maloofs would like that.
 
Not sure I do this if I'm the Clipps, unless they think Bibby's the one piece they need to push them over the top.

So not only is it that we have no PG but also we might not own Clippers anymore
 
Steven A Smith was just on ESPNnews and said that the Kings are still in the mix and mentioned the three way trade with the Clippers. Also, said Miami is a darkhorse possibly offering J-Will and James Posey. If the Clippers rumor is true I would rather cut out Philly and get Livingston our self.

not a bad idaea, really...
 
Livingston is not good. I mean, he kills the Kings (what point guard doesn't kill the Kings, but he's not good at all. Everyone is still waiting for him to pan out. Everyone gets really excited about tall point guards, but that has only worked once. About twenty years ago.

No he's better than a lot of others. His problem is that he doesn't have any go to moves or any real offensive game. If he develops that he'll be fine. The guy could be such a mismatch on offense if he just learned to score a little.

Also, Magic was great because he did it despite his size. Magic wasn't just tall, he was a big guy so it was a marvel to watch. Livingston is tall but he's a skinny, quick guy who'll play as quick as any other point guard. Also, Magic never could play very good defense because he was always stuck guarding smaller quicker guys who would go around him. Livingston will probably do a little better.

Of course Magic's a hundred times better than this guy but Livingston will be fine. He's already improved a lot from last year

This is his third year in the league. Rookie season:

7.4 points, 5.0 assists

this season:

8.2 points, 4.8 assists

How is that fine? The guy hasn't improved at all!

Yea I dont get the whole hype around him either... clip fans dont want to trade him unless theyre getting like lebron or kobe. He'll probably be a good player, but not great

I mean, I'll kiss the guy's feet if he's part of a deal that gets us AI for Bibby/KT, but I don't want him on the Kings.
 
I just saw SAS on espnews with the "latest" on AI

He mentioned the 3 team deal

BUT

he also mentioned a LOT of other possibilities!

He said GS was involved, Sac, Denver, Miami, Boston, Clippers, etc.

So what does this all mean?

No one knows anything except Billy King and the GMs

PHILADELPHIA - Wednesday's installment of the Allen Iverson trade saga had the Denver Nuggets exploring an alternate way to obtain the 76ers' all-star guard, and the Golden State Warriors taking a step back and perhaps getting ready to drop out.

A source said Wednesday that the Nuggets might be trying to involve a third team, the Portland Trail Blazers, in the deal. The proposed trade would send forward Nene to the Trail Blazers, who then would ship center Jamaal Magloire to the Sixers.

The Nuggets would send another player, possibly Joe Smith, to the Sixers, and the Sixers would direct Iverson to Denver.

Magloire would give Sixers general manager Billy King what he wants, a contract that is in its last season. The 6-foot-11 Magloire, in his seventh NBA season, is making $8.3 million.

Nene is making $10 million in the first year of a five-year contract, but as a base-year player, the Nuggets can take back only $6.35 million in salary.

The source also said the Warriors might be out of the running for Iverson. The West Coast team was believed to have offered guard Baron Davis and perhaps center Andris Biedrins. One report mentioned Sixers center Steven Hunter as part of one proposed deal.

With King unavailable for comment, there was no indication whether a deal was near. Iverson was on the inactive list for the fourth straight game.

I saw the Steven A Smith short segmant on Iverson too, but
I think its an old report because he didn't even mention what the Maloofs said yeasterday about the iverson trade. Mainly, every other news report on Iverson says Sac is out of the deal so it seems were not goin to get him but damn it, even though we really need a big man, I wish we would get him.
 
I heard on another board that 2 people watching the bucks/nets game heard them say AI's being traded to Minny. Gosh I hate this. I think god hates the Kings or something. Oh well logic told me we weren't trading for him anyway.
 
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Tom Tolbert today made a really good point. If you're going to trade your young players for Iverson who only has a few good years left in the NBA and you aren't a championship caliber team with him (which the Kings won't be) it really makes no sense for that team to trade away their future to stay in the middle of the pack. I think that's where the disconnect is. Billy King obviously wants some young players, but I don't think any team is willing to part with them. Including Sacramento.
 
For the Sixers to deal with the Twolves, if indeed true, shows me no teams were willing to give up much to get him.

I for one don't think the Kings have a tough rebuild if they indeed do. I don't see them rebuilding throught the draft. They still haven't made any roster moves. We have a new coach, some have to come. That's the way it is.
 
True, but but besides Martin I don't think we have players that will improve that much in the future. Garcia looked promising last year but he hasn't done much this year. I think we should have gone for AI and be a decent playoff team for the next few years and hopefully add more talent. I disagree with rebuilding from scratch, Bibby will probably not finish his career in Sac and its time to have some fun, make trades.
 
why would the sixers trade him to an east coast team?? i would imagine they would trade him out west so they only see AI 2x a year... think about it.. if they traded him to the east and the sixers "magically" got good, they would not want it to be ai and the (insert east team here) in the east who knocked them out.
