Well, should be quite interesting and fun up here in NY... I like Francis, but just a wild deal.

So Knicks get two point guards that act like a shooting guard...and the Magic get two former stars that'll never return to their old form.

Besides Penny, who's the other star you're referring to?

Magic official announcement:

Magic Press Release - The Orlando Magic have acquired forward Trevor Ariza and the expiring contract of guard Anfernee Hardaway from New York in exchange for guard Steve Francis, Assistant General Manager Otis Smith announced today. In addition, the team has waived forward Bo Outlaw.

“As an organization, you always look for ways to improve your team, both presently and in the future,” said Smith. “The moves we have made today and last week (Darko Milicic and Carlos Arroyo from Detroit) continue to build a solid foundation around our core players, such as Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. In addition, this particular deal has allowed us to gain significant salary cap flexibility in the future.”

“The moves we have made during the last few days are geared to grow and improve our team,” said Magic Head Coach Brian Hill. “Trevor (Ariza) is a young, athletic small forward, who will fit in defensively with what we are trying to accomplish. I genuinely like Steve as a person and wish him nothing but the best.”

The two most selfish point gaurds under the tutelage of Larry Brown? This shhould be interesting...Isiah gets my vote as the worst GM of all time.

Heh, remember Lewis Black's "Aerosmith, Britany, and N'Sync" AKA the "Trifecta from Hell", guys who shouldn't even be in the same room together, let alone stage? Heh, man, we need to get AI on the Knicks fast.

Starbury and Franchise...

I hope all the other Knicks relish there combined 4 shots per game.

:D

francis has chosen to wear #8 for the knicks, a knicks number previously owned by one of the nba's most astute and humble veterans: latrell sprewell.

i can't wait to see the knicks further implode into nothingness. it's almost amusing to watch isiah thomas make one ridiculously, insanely stupid move after another. larry brown will retire a knick before this is all said and done. i guarantee it.

Potaetoes potaatoes, you say redundant PGs, I say interchangeable parts and versitility....

Let's not forget about Jamal Crawford or Jalen Rose, either, as two other guys that need their shots.

he changed his mind. he's wearing #1 now.

YES, Isiah pulled it off!! This is going to be one of the funniest backcourts in NBA history and they've got the perfect coach to make it as akward and painful as possible for everyone involved in New York Knicks basketball.

This could be very enjoyable. Wonder how long before Spike Lee becomes a Nets fan?

;)

The word on the street in NY is that Larry Brown's insurance premium has jacked up and Knicks fans, all six of them including Spike Lee, have apparently got the slightest notion that maybe Isiah Thomas is not doing the right thing after all. Meanwhile there is no word on the street in Orlando, only a collective sigh of relief remains.

Its just crazy enough to have an outside shot of working. Hey, if you're going to suck anyway, might as well suck with style. And people may be writing this off too early. Sure Zeke has his old Pistons teams on his mind -- trio (Crawford is now the 6th man) of ballhandling shooting guards and then a crapload of frontcourt roleplayers. Probably going to blow up, but it will at least be interesting to watch.

I wonder if the NBA will let the knicks play with 6 basketballs every game?
1 for Starbury
2 for Franchise
1 for Rose
1 for Crawford
and Nate Robinson deserves his own, because..... well, if he has Marbury and Francis to learn from, hes gonna need it after a while. and because he jumped over spud webb.

I'm surprised the Magic didn't get Crawford out of the deal who is a very decent SG. Oh well, Crawford I'm sure will be traded if not tomorrow possibly at the end of the season

Isiah's now using Playstation to think of trades. I'm sure Marbury/Francis/Rose/Nate/Crawford is a fun 5-guard lineup in NBA Live.
