NEW YORK - In an attempt to quiet all the rumors currently floating around about upcoming trades, David Stern of the NBA has issued a stern warning.

"The number of bogus rumors being started by virtually anyone who can even say basketball is alarming," a clearly alarmed Stern announced sternly. "This is disruptive, not only to the teams actually trying to negotiate trades but for the thousands of message boards desperately trying to keep up with the rumors. It's gotten to the point where stern action must be taken.

"So, effective immediately, Mark Cuban is going to be fined $1 million every time a false rumor is posted on a message board," Stern continued.

When questioned about the relevance of fining the fiery Dallas Mavericks owner for things he clearly had no control over, Stern was pretty clear in his reply.

"He talked crap about me and things I had no control over, so I'm simply returning the favor."

Gawd.... its come to this. Seven days of vacation didn't help. Let the Kings keep what they have from summer league and the roster and let them play against each other for best 2 of 3, 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams and when it settles keep the best 15, send 2 to NBDL and say the hell with it.
