I have spyware on my system. I have tried to clean it out with ad-aware, spybot and norton and I still have it. Any suggestions?
Thanks, however, I just went to the site and I received an error message "Error on downloading Panda ActiveScan An error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try again".Mad D said:well one time i had spyware on my computer and those programs didnt couldnt get rid of it either so i scanned for viruses and it got rid of it for me

I had it real bad one time and I was about at my wits end. I found some website and asked the guy a question and he said to restart(or start) your computer in the safe mode and then run spybot. I did it and sure enough it took care of it. I tried 3 other types of anti-spyware crap and it didn't do squat. I have the live update Norton anti-virus stuff and it picked up the spyware but couldn't get rid of it.Rockmeister said:Thanks, however, I just went to the site and I received an error message "Error on downloading Panda ActiveScan An error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. rhuber, I would appreciate it very much if I can get a copy of it. Thanks in advance.rhuber said:The best spyware removal software I've found to date is far and away Giant AntiSpyware from Giant Company Software. This thing gives your system quite an impressive scrubbing. There's a good news/bad news aspect to it though.
First the bad news: Apparently, Microsoft was just as impressed by the software as the rest of us, so they just purchased Giant Company with the intention of incorporating their suite of security tools into Windows OS (which may take some time). Until that time, the software is no longer available. MS does say that they intend to release a stand-alone version of it soon.
The Good news, if you want to give it a try... I can send you a copy of the trial version I downloaded just before MS purchased the company.
Woohoo!!!!!!! Great job, rhuber! And, congrats, Rock! Don't we have just a great group here? I love these folks!!!Rockmeister said:Thank you again rhuber. My pc is free from spyware.
Yes, I'm running XP and I have SP2 installed.rhuber said:Persistent little self-seeding bugger isn't it.
Ok, back to the other question of your Operating System: Are you running Windows XP, and if so, do you know if you have service pack 2 installed?
When I clicked on tools, I saw "turn off popup blocker" and popup blocker settings. So, its good, right? I know your trying and I appreciate all the help you given me. The popup blocker is set to medium...and I actually changed it to high.rhuber said:That helps... that suggests that your problem is (or at least may be) external, not internal.
Is your pop blocker that came with serviced pack 2 working to keep most, if not all other popups at bay?
Is your popup blocker enabled? If you're not sure, open your browser (assuming you're using Internet Explorer), click TOOLS, and hover over "PopUp Blocker". You should see "Turn Off Popup Blocker", and "PopUp Blocker Settings". If you see instead "Turn ON popup Blocker", then it's off and should be turned on.
If it's on, go ahead and click Popup Blocker Settings, and look at the Filter Level dropdown at the bottom. Make sure this is set to medium or high.
Again, I'm reaching here... but I'm trying!
