SPECIAL MIDWEEK EDITION Test Ron should scare off Kings

If they don't like Artest they can trade him away? Hmmm. Where have I heard that before?

Oh wait. It's coming back to me. Something about flexible pieces...

Thomas, Skinner, Williamson.

If Artest doesn't make it here, do you really think there's another team out there that's going to save our bacon?

Sorry, Laker fan, but that's pretty delusional.

Yeah that's completely different. KennyThomas making 8 mill and Artest making 6.8 up to 8 mill are 2 COMPLETELY different things. Artest at his talent range is a true bargain, if the team who goes to can keep him straight and play.

Late last night he released a statement saying that he does not thing Sacramento would be a place for him, blah blah blah, or his family, blah blah blah....but at the end he said if a trade happens and sends him some where he is not too happy with, he will be a professional about it and play no matter what. The first rational thing I've heard from him. And AGAIN that comment was compared to Webber not by me, but by people on the radio. Because, it sounds exactly like what Webber said. I still say bring him here, have him play, he'll get used to it.

Doc. I understand your passionate opinion on Artest, but are you saying that Ron would be just as professional as he was with the Pacers. He sure has history of "if a trade happens and sends him some where he is not too happy with, he will be a professional about it and play no matter what."

I have no issue with your comments. I think if you like Ron and you want him here, you have every right to state your opinion on that.

I'm saying it's a calculated risk. I know the possibility of what could happen. We all know that. I'm saying we need a shake up. This may be it, or it may not. If we can keep Ron half way sane, ONLY half way till the end of the season. If he fits great, if not then he's a VERY moveable piece. He is not Kenny Thomas that is inconsistant unless starting. Skinner who's only defensive, or Corliss who is just getting older.

You know what my biggest problem with the Kings have been even through their championship run?? The problem that has baffled me to NO end?? We've had players that are considered all-start calibur, still have one in Bibby, and yet they can be so inconsistant. Why is it that Stars on other teams only have a bad night here and there, but for the most part night in and night out perform. Why can't the Kings have a GOOD player like that. That's the thing that's always made the Kings star material seem a little lower than anyone else's. Why can't we have that guy, or guys that always just come in and lay it down NO matter what. Everyone has bad nights, but true star material doesn't fluctuate.

When Ron Artest in the game he brings it every night. Yes the key is when he's in the game. Do you think this guy has been sitting on his ***. He's training every day and playing in pick up games. He's damn near in game shape.

You would have

Bibby
Bonzi
Miller
Artest
Abdur-Rahim

When everyone is healthy. If Boniz doesn't want to come back next year Kevin steps up. Now your line up is

Bibby
Martin
Miller
Artest
SAR or Kenny

We are Actually starting to build something at that point. The only concern now is finding an athletic TRUE center, get rid of Skinner and bring Miller off the bench. Now you have a pretty athletic team. With some toughness. I want people to be AFRAID when they go to Artest's side of the floor. I want thme to wonder if their ear will still be attached after they drive. We've never had that. I want it. Bring on the Chianti and Favre beans.
