The Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a deal in principle that will send John Salmons to the Bucks for the expiring contracts of Kurt Thomas and Francisco Elson, sources said on Wednesday.

The deal allows the Bulls to clear Salmons $5.8 million salary off the books for next season. That puts them roughly $20 million under the cap next summer as the Bulls make a push to sign free agents like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

The deal gives the Bucks a shooting guard to replace the injured Michael Redd.

Well, this put Chicago into full tank mode... I say we try to sweet talk them into handing Noah over to us.......

I'd love this deal:

Kings Trade: TMac

Chicago Trade: Joakim Noah, Kirk Hinrich (eww), T. Thomas (5m exp), Jerome James, 6.6m expiring

Hopefully Geoff will be taking calls from other teams to see if there are better offers than NY for TMac's expiring.

No way in HELL would that ever happen. Would be nice though.

I agree, it's quite lopsided. Since we may end up with a glut of young bigs (JT, Hawes, Landry, Hill, Dorsey) we could include one of them as well to better even things out. Hinrich's contract is just horrible, so we'd be doing them a massive favor by taking it on. With the inclusion of one of our bigs I could see it evening out for both teams, and Hinrich would actually be a decent fit next to Tyreke.
