Don't Make Me Use The Bat
this will come as no great surprise to any fan of the Kings, but we of course lead the league in assists -- 25.5 ast/gm (1st in NBA), and another 27 last night.
Some interesting per 48 numbers to explain it:
Overall, doesn't look spectacular. Led by:
Mike Bibby 7.7 ast/48 (32nd in NBA)
Doug Christie 7.4 ast/48 (35th in NBA)
Chris Webber 7.2 ast/48 (36th in NBA)
Furthermore, Bibby's 7.7 ast/48min only ranks 25th(tied) in NBA amongst PGs.
But our other position ranks:
1) PF -- Chris Webber's 7.2 ast/48min ranks 2nd in NBA among PFs (to Garnett's 7.5, distant #3 is Kenyon Martin with 4.6).
2) C -- Brad Miller's 4.9 ast/48min ranks 1st in NBA among Cs. Shaq is second at 4.3. As an aside Greg Ostertag currently ranks 7th in NBA among Cs with 2.3 ast/48min.
3) OG -- Doug Christie's 7.4 ast/48min ranks 2nd in NBA among OGs (to Kobe's 8.2). Unless you count Dwayne Wade (9.0) as an OG, in which case he is third.
