We may not be the same team, but this team should be a good team. Just way too many good players playing badly right now.

GOT CHEMISTRY?

This team has enough talent to win 50 games but this team looks like there headed into a bad season I hope they can turn it around but I don't think they could.

I wish I could be surprised by the slow start, but I've been feeling since a long time ago that any "core" made up of Peja and Brad is a core of marshmallow. The Kings should be called the SMORES.

I wish Brad and Peja would prove me wrong, but they are just so psychologically fragile I can never imagine them winning anything. Bibby is psychologically tough but he can't cover his mouth when he coughs, much less cover an opposing PG.

I'm afraid we're in for a long season.

Cute. :D

We aren't going to lose 4 of 5 the rest of the year. But we;ve got more serious issues than I thought we would, and I was hardly a jocker for this lineup. There are a lot of struggling diffuse talented 40-48 win teams in Memphis, Portland, Dallas etc. that we are beginning to resemble. Perhaps I was hasty in assuming we'd be able to score, but jsut would nto rebound or defend. rihgt now we're not scoring OR rebounding OR defending. So much to work on to even become decent, let alone good or even *gulp* great.

Its early, but this homestand may already be our last best hope. If we can't find ourselves with so many home games, and a number that should be gimmes, you just get the feeling there wo;; be too much doom and gloom for a change not to be made on some front.

I still say 20 games in is probably going to be the cutoff point. If there is no signifcant progress major change will happen. I still believe they'll get it together!

Apparently the Maloofs have already stated they'll make moves if they have to. Don't know if I like the sound of that this early.

gulp -- where'd you hear that? That is the clock ticking down on the whole bomb for us, and a significant concern. if they are already saying that, and we wnet 1-4 over the next 5 too, who knows? (of course at that point I might be in favor of doing something too).

Jim Gray said he talked to one of the Maloof brothers about it before the game.

Damn, I'm really worried now; I guess the Maloofs also see the concern on this team they might also have a clock ticking and what date changes will need to be made if our team continues playing bad.

I am not sure how much longer this type of play will be accepted. That 4th quarter against the Nugs was just hard to watch. Something may have to be done soon or else this season will be ugly

I completely second that motion!! Then the rest of us won't have to weed through this forum to find the constructive ones.

Personally, they should not make another move, unless it is for a player we just can not refuse (Garnett for example). I have come to the realization that it is not the team, it is the fans!!! Our expectations were and still are way too high for this team. I do think that this team will make the playoffs, but it is going to be more a 7 or 8 seed. They have made way to many changes with pieces that need to get use to each other. It is going to take time.

I feel that this year is preparation more for next year and the year after. If they keep a core of this team together (SAR, Bonzi, Bibby, Peja- not at max contract, Martin, Garcia, Skinner, Williamson) move pieces here or there over time (Miller, Thomas, Hart and Adelman), this team can contend for an NBA Championship down the line. Are we as fans willing to wait this thing out.

This is 1999 all over again without the charisma, personality and eye pleasing brand of basketball.

No, no its not. That's the problem. If, as in '99, we had managed this time to assemble a young team of brilliant talents with incredibly bright futures ahead of them, headed up by a young superstar in the waiting, the losing would not bother that much aside from its potential effect on the kids' morale. But that's not what we've done. There IS no long term future for this team. Its 3-4 years max before not 1, not 2, not 3, but the ENTIRE starting lineup AND 6th man are 31, 32, 33 and on the downside. There is no "youth" excuse for losing, and no grand future by sitting and waiting. In short we HAVE to sweat the current, because its all we've got.

Not as far as personnel, it is not 1999. But as far as rebuilding, I feel that it is. The window of opportunity for our previous Kings team was 4-6 years. That is a long time. I do not believe any window stays open that long in professional sports. But this squad can give you a nice 3 year window if you keep the core together. And to me, the core is not Bibby, Peja and Brad. At some point either Mike Bibby or Brad Miller must go!!! Preferbly Miller. You can not build a defensive core with both of those players. Neither is athletic enough.

So if you keep the core I previously mentioned, I believe that chemestry can build and they can be a contender.

completely agree. We've had some horrible games, but we also beat Phoenix on their court. Last year started at 1-4 and they went on to win 50. I'll start to panic if this is still going on around Christmas.

Amareless. By 1 point.

I'll take it, and VERY glad we got that one or this could be turning into a REAL debacle. But not much at all to hang our hat on.
