(1.) Colorful Detroit Tigers pitcher from the late-1970's, Mark "The Bird" Fidrych, has died in an accident on his farm in Massachusetts.

(2.) Harry Kalas, longtime radio voice of the Philadelphia Phillies and NFL Films, and member of the broadcasters wings of the Baseball Hall of Fame, has died at age 73. He collapsed about one hour before announcing a Phillies/Washington Nationals game.
