They had Kevin Garnett Rondo PP Allen..
Did anyone think Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were standout defenders before? They also had Perkins in their starting lineup who's not really a defensive force. A capable role-player, but not a stopper. Granted Garnett and Rondo are terrific defensive players but it takes a team to play defense. Not to mention those guys take nothing away from what he did in Houston and New York. He's been a key factor on some of the best defensive teams of the last decade. You have to read between the lines a little bit. All the Boston players sing his praises. Opposing players respect him. He's reportedly a hard worker and very vocal on the sidelines. There's a lot more than just one championship saying this guy could make a great head coach.
