The Orange County Register reported:

"A rumored 3-way deal, involving the Clippers, Kings and Sixers with Iverson parachuting into Sacto, Maggette and Livingston to Philly and Bibby and Thomas to the Clips. It was reported tuesday the Kings wouldn't pursue Iverson"

No that is interesting. Or is it?

Well, it's been in the air for a few days, first reported, I believe, by the Bee in the article that said the Kings weren't pursuing Iverson.

Right. But this was date lined today and in the same article was the contradiction of the 3-team trade followed by the Kings not pursuing Iverson.

Taken bluntly, its a contradiction. But reading between the lines, could it mean the Kings are not pursuing Iverson directly but if such a deal "parachuted" into their laps, would they do it?

Well, the Amick blog from yesterday contained some innuendo along these lines as well. But I really don't know. Unless Iverson really truly doesn't want to come to Sacramento, if the Clippers are really willing to send Maggette/Livingston to Philadelphia for Bibby/Thomas, the Kings would be insane not to go along with it. I just don't know if the Clippers are ready to give up on Livingston, and while they're thin at power forward with how horribly Tim Thomas has been playing, is Kenny Thomas their answer?

Livingston is not going anywhere.

Changed my mind on the whole Iverson deal... I dont want him comming here and taking anything away from Martin and pushing Artest away from our team.

Its time to get a big man.

Well, if the rumors about Denver being willing to give up Nene for AI are true:

Nene to the Kings; Bibby/KT to clippers; Livingstone, Mag to Philly, AI to Denver. A PG would have to be in there, coming to the Kings - maybe we can somehow include Andre Miller in there?.

Eww yuck, I didn't want Nene here before his sucky deal and now I want him less....I think Nene Hilario is the most overrated player in the NBA since Harold Minor.

well, its on NBA.com. a poll. 3 teams. which team will get iverson. choices are minny, boston and sacramento. vote now!!

It's a massive, massive gamble given his contract and injury history, but Nene could probably be had for an expiring right now. That's a very cheap price for a talented big.

Of course, if it doesn't work... that's a disaster.

There has to be someone else in there, and Miller would be acceptable (I'm not a salary guy, so I'm not sure the finances work). But Bibby + KT for Nene is nuts. Lots of value out, questionable value in.

Billy King: "Everybody is gladly available. Andre Iguodala or Sam Dalembert may have to be surrendered in order to move Webber ($20.7M/22.3M next season) or A.I. "But the big push is on to deal Iverson."

I didn't actually know that Iggy and Dalembert were being used as trade bait, I didn't think King would even conside trading them but he is. Petrie should really try for something like Bibby, Martin and Miller for AI, Iggy and Dalembert although Kings might have to throw in other players/picks to make it work. Sixers would be giving up alot. I know you're all not fond of trading Martin, but the only thing he does better than Iggy is score. AI2 is better at everything else and is more athletic and younger. Not saying he'll turn out better, but it's pretty equal. You just do that trade if it comes your way cause it would solve our big man problems and get us a superstar = deep in the PO's. Maybe this was something Petrie was trying to do but it got rejected. Imagina a line-up of;

Sammy
SAR
Artest
Iggy
AI

That's a very strong team. I doubt the sixers would do it though.

I'd rather give up Garcia than Martin.

I'm pretty sure Iggy and Martin are the same age. But Iggy has shown no growth at all from his rookie year, and Martin's our best shooter and slasher.

I'd shoot myself if the Kings got Nene and his 6 year 60 million dollar deal.

As much as I value my own life, when you put it that way, yeah, I'm right there with you.

What really sucks is that I like Nene a lot as a player, and it's not his fault the Nuggets overpaid him. But there's no way the Kings can touch him with that contract.

They can throw in Korver and Ollie and Webber and hey, we become the complete 76ers!

Why on earth would we want to become the 76ers??

Dalembert is the only player of that lot I would take because he's the only guy that's a semi-center in the bunch.

We don't need any of the rest. We need 4s and 5s.

Okay, this is just getting a little silly. This exact same rumor has been floating around and posted in several other threads. I think the main problem is the Orange County Register is hopefully behind the times...

Seriously....KT is better then that guy.

I dont know why Kings fans are so enamored with him...But I'd just as soon wait til free agency and try to get Varejao.

I was going to post the exact same thing. Good thing I read the entire thread before posting.:)

If we just got a big shotblocker it's still not going to put us over the top. We'd be a playoff team, but not a contender. We're a big man and a true star away from contention.

Actually we do need a superstar to get anywhere and that could be Iverson. Dalembert is what we're all looking for, a big athletic center shotblocker, who cares if we get some players from the sixers?? Iggy is what we get if they want Martin, not saying this is going to happen because it seems the deal is dead, but I'm just saying the only way I could see us trading Martin to them would be if we got Iggy back.

Just because the sixers suck doesn't mean they don't have good useful players that we need.
Basically you're saying that if we traded Artest and SAR to Sixers for nothing (obviously this is just to get a point across!) that they'd still suck?? I doubt that. If the sixers team was Sammy, SAR, Artest, Iggy and AI then that would be a East contender. What is your problem with us having philly players if we're filling all our needs? I'm not arguing with you, just trying to say that it would be a great trade.

Anyways, all this talk seems a bit pointless since it's probably not gonna happen. ;)

Like I said. If all a team needed to win a championship is Iverson, Iguodala and Dalembert, why does Philly suck?
