Does anyone remember these? They had a little blue dog with a hat on in their logo. You'd pick from a number of flavors and squirt the flavoring and then add the sugary frozen ice mixture.

These used to be at nearly every corner market when I was a kid but I haven't seen them anywhere in a long time. I'm not sure why but last week when it was over 100 it made me remember these. Does anyone know if they're still around? Is there anywhere in the Sacramento area that still sells them?

Don't know if they're still around, but I loved them. I'd go to our local market and make a "suicide"...one squirt of every flavor (that's what we called it, at least...). Good stuff.

Wow! Quick turnaround! Here is the email from Slush Puppie!

Good day to you,
The local distributor in your area is called Cal-Neva Slush Co. and they can be contacted by phone at 209-667-1602. They will be able to provide you with some information about retailers in your area. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

JGar: According to Yelp!, you may be able to get them at a place called "Here's the Scoop" on Freeport Blvd across from McClatchy HS. You may want to call and check before going there, though. Seems they've been trying to sell the business.

I will call. brb

I called an left a message for someone named Sherry. If she calls back with a list of Sacramento outlets, I will let you know.

Sherry with Cal-Neva distributors says that they distribute to many places in the Sacramento area. Most of your mom and pop stores carry slush puppies. But, it sounds like the flavors are already mixed.

She would not give me the name of any specific retailer. They cannot advertise one place against another.

Not to rub it in or anything, but here in MA we have a slush puppy stand at around 50% of our convenient stores, and they are great. Best is when they let you make it yourself .. I do about 7 squirts of watermelon and 2 squirts of shocker. I love slush puppies.

I saw a SlushPuppies machine last weekend... unfortunately, I cannot remember where. Since I spent the day in Marysville/Yuba City, I'm guessing I saw it in a store window or something.

I think we need more specific information because I, too, absolutely loved them!

I can tell you that Delaware had one at the gas station on Pennsylvania Avenue about a block from the 7-11 if that helps.
