Yes, I've read that our computers will be smarter than us this century. (In some cases, they already are, LOL) I just don't think it sounds like a good idea. Terminator movies don't seem so far-fetched anymore. Scares the beejesus out of me. :eek:

I'm pretty skeptical about claims like that. First off, "smart" can refer to a lot of different things. If we're just talking about problem solving, they're already "smarter" than us in some ways, as you said. But if you're taking about something like Data on Star Trek, that's still science fiction. And even if we could create something with that level if intelligence, it would still have the same shortcomings that Data had, no intuition, no creativity, etc.
