This message is intended for me to express my frustration and disappointment at the so called role models we call the Sacramento Kings Dance Team.

I have been to a couple of games, the latest being last night, during which a handful of the Dance Team showed a total lack of respect to Kings fans.

Last night, during one of the timeouts, the dancers all came up into the crowd in the lower section. It was going well until the dancer in my section decided to be a b!tch to a family consisting of a mother, father, and a 2 or 3 year old girl who clearly was enjoying the game, and the presence of the dance team. the dancers were going around handing out t-shirts to fans, and the dancer in my section saw the little girl, and went up to her, was about to hand her the t-shirt, and right when the girl was going to grab the shirt, pulled her hand back and handed it to an older guy who was standing right next to her. The mother of young girl then proceeded to head down to talk to the dancer, in a very nice way, to ask her why she did what she did, and the dancer exploded at her, and started yelling at her, proceeding to flip her off before leaving for the back.

Another incident occurred during the New Orleans Hornets game a couple of weeks ago. I had very good seats and was sitting in one of the sections where the Dancers showed up in during a timeout. They did whatever they had to do, and as they were leaving, were approached by a couple of young girls who just wanted to say hi/give the dancers some hugs, etc. Not only did the dance team NOT give them hugs or say hi to the young girls, but they also then proceeded to flip the fans off in that section as they were heading back...the fans in the section clearly showed their appreciation for what the dance team did by booing them during each and every appearance for the rest of the game.

I am a die hard Kings fan, and actions such as the ones outlined above absolutely make me sick to my stomach and make me want to do something about it. Those girls need to be taught some very harsh lessons about respect...

This is the right forum for it, but you are a first time poster, the behavior you have described would be extremely bizarre for a dance team/entertainment extension of the Kings, and this is the first time we have heard anything about any of this, so I am going to be watching this thread closely to see if there is any confirmation for anything like this. You may be legit, and if you are I am sorry for your experience, but we won't see the board used as a place to anonymously slander people.

I've averaged over 35 games a year the past 21 years and have never seen one of the dancers do anything like it. I would be very surprisd. They would lose their jobs.

So the dancers are literally "flipping off fans"? You witnessed the middle finger on two occasions? Not calling you a liar, but I find it hard to believe the dancers are literally flipping off fans, while surrounded by thousands of other fans, and this is the first I've heard.

Look, I understand that you may not believe me because I am a newbie out here, but since I have heard bout this forum in the past, and I have heard great things about it and that its really popular, I figured this would be the best way to get the message out.

As I said, they were isolated incidents which only happened in one section. Regarding the New Orleans incident..not sure if it is a dance TEAM problem here, but rather an INDIVIDUAL member problem. Maybe a fan did or said something to pee off the individual member, and the whole team decided to take their frustrations out on the section...

Not trying to give the SKDT a bad name or anything, but I clearly saw it with my own two eyes, as did quite a bit of other Kings fans in attendance that night...

Go complain directly to the Kings organization and demand a response. If that is all true, whoever is involved should be fired. Regardless, don't gossip about it on a message board.

I am in no way calling you a liar, but this doesn't add up. I have been to games since it was old Arco, and have never seen anything like what you have described. Not to mention if the dancers did in fact flip off the fans, I cannot imagine the Maloof's would stand for that and the dancers in question would likely would be out of a job. I mean who knows, maybe the Maloofs instructed them to do this. Create some sort of backlash amongst fans which would then cause these mistreated fans to not attend games. The Maloofs could then use use dwindling attendance as a reason to leave town :p

I won't address the questionable tone of this post. I'll just ask, since when are cheerleaders supposed to be "role models"? Does anyone really look up to girls who dance around in skimpy outfits as role models? LOL.

About 15 years ago there was a father with a daughter (around 5-6 years old) who dressed up as a cheerleader every game. So yes.

Dancers are human beings just like anyone else, so anything is possible. Having known two of them in the past, I find this hard to believe, and in all my years of being a season ticket holder, I never, ever saw any dancer do anything like what you discribe. However the best place to take you complaint is to the Kings themselves. They do have a website and a venue for such complaints. And if what you say is true, then I can assure you that the Kings will take action. The Maloofs are trying to do everything they can think of to get people back to ARCO, and I don't think flipping off the fans is part of their agenda.

But I must say that I'm having a very, very, very hard time believing you. But if true, its inexcusable..

I think it's more likely the op made a sexual overture to one of the dancers, and she didn't respond the way he would of liked. So, he came home pissed off, and decided to come on here, register, and blast the dance team, with his first post.

Of course I'm speculating, but given what I've seen men say to cheerleaders in the past, that seems much more likely than the above scenario.

Instead of taking care of the problem by writing to the Kings organization, you think writing here "would be the best way to get the message out." I hope that this is not a hit and run act you are performing and that you will share with us all what you think you have accomplished.

So...

If this really happened, then the proper course of action would be to file a complaint with the Kings and MS&E, and here's the best contact information to do so (link). Follow up with your complaint, and make sure it's been acknowledged, and that's really all you can do.

However, because there's no proof that it did or didn't happen, rather than have the OP subjected to unnecessary scrutiny by members of the board and/or malign the reputation of the entire dance team, I'm closing this thread. If there's any pertinent information on this topic, please PM me.
