Skal?

what Grant says has no face value. Skal needs to go out there and prove himself as an NBA pro and a player the Kings can move forward with as a rotational piece or discard.
 
Remember when Grant tried to have us believe Skal was the greatest player in the history of basketball in the initial post-Boogie half season? Good times!

I’m pulling for him. It would be great if he actually lived up to his dreaded “P-word.”
 
No surprise. I have him in the top two of the bigs I have confidence in

Always one of the most talented players on the team. Was a consensus high school pick in talent for a reason, and a good kid who won’t stop trying to be the best he can be with a proven work ethic

It would be another slight to Vlade if he did try to trade him last year as rumors suggested

Why would it be improbable? Most bigs start to come into their own in their 3rd or 4th season. Obviously, we need to see what he does on the court, but it wouldn't be unusual for a player like Skal to start to put things together at this point.
 
Fans are notorious for giving up on young players quickly, especially on those that have not played much basketball in their life. Skal has the talent and he seems to have the work ethic. Everything about his off-season has been positive.

I would not be surprised if he ends up being our starting PF not long into the season. His skillset is what we would be looking to have at the 4. People have written him off as not getting a chance. I think he will and he will pleasantly surprise a few people.
 
I love his style of game and is perfect for this era especially if we grow a brain and have him shooting more 3s. However how is the kid gonna play there’s 96mpg at C/PF. To be conservative let’s say WCS/Bagley/Giles all play 28mpg that leaves Skal with only 12mpg and this is assuming KK/ZBo don’t play

Bjelica will wind up playing at the 4 as well.

I think people wrote off Skal due to his seemingly poor basketball IQ and poor lateral quickness. All legitimate concerns. That plus the fact he appeared to regress last year had many write him off.

But we all acknowledge Skal has limited basketball experience and he never seemed balanced properly in his defensive stance. So who knows

There is nothing conservative about WCS/Bagley/Giles playing 28 minutes a game, especially WCS
