Whatever remaining relevance the FIBA World Rankings had went swirling down the toilet on Sunday. After winning eight straight games in mostly spectacular fashion to clinch Olympic gold, the United States dropped one spot to No. 2.

Power rankings for FIBA are based on the past 8 years????? WTF??? If you don't want to waste time following the explanation, it's that our dismal performance from after Sydney is being weighed in to the current rankings.

Yeah, that makes sense.
 
And this is where my lack of hypocrisy on this subject is truly revealed -- I really don't care. Didn't care when we won easily all the time. Did not care while we struggled with arrogance. Do not care now. And really do not care what FIBA thinks.
 
The FIBA or the United Nations. Which one would you want deciding anything for you. Wait a minute. By god I think their both the same organization. I can sleep safely tonight..
