I really hope we´ll bring back Ike Diogu. He´s a better 4 and his last two games this season were really promising.
I really dont think Ike is an option at this point for two reasons.
One... Im not paying $$$ for a guy that flashed some good in just 2 meaningless games at the end of the year. Maybe he could be alright but there is no indication that he can be consistent... or that the 2 games were anymore than a fluke.
Two... Hes undersized... and with Brockman/KT/and friends we need at least one more 7ft'er on this team...
I think a move you'll probably see is Beno and KT for a decent 7ft-ish player.
another move could just be Beno straight up for an equal talented big, to a team that needs a backup or has an injury prone PG and also has an extra avg big sitting around.
Bobby Jackson said that Ike was killing our bigs in practice every day and had no idea why he wasn't getting any PT. He showed it in practice. I would have no qualms about bringing him back at a relatively low price.
honestly WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT WAS GOIN ON IN PRACTICE LAST YEAR!?!?!
LOL!!! Seriously... If it was anything like the games then you or I could have done some damage!
also im sorry but i couldn't resist...
WE TALK'N BOUT PRACTICE!!! I MEAN PRACTICE??? COME ON MAN... PRACTICE?? WE TALK'N BOUT PRACTICE!
again im not paying anyone for being good in practice... for all we know Douby was the Michael Jordan of the Kings in practice...

Well, when he kills Hawes and JT, and then he kills whenever he gets PT (against Nene no less), then the problem is less with Ike and more with the coaching staff who refused to put him on the court to assess him until it was too late, and now the team is in this doubt mode because of his contract year. If we had weeks of evaluation instead of a couple games, maybe we wouldn't be so questioning. That's on Natt and co., not Ike.
wow are all you pro Ike guys joking??? !!! TWO FREAK'N GAMES!!! YOU WANNA PAY THIS GUY FOR 2 FREAK'N END OF THE YEAR, TOTALLY MEANINGLESS GAMES!? WOW YOUR OUTA YOUR FREAK'N MINDS!
he hadn't done anything close to that in years leading up to those last games... Keep in mind agains Minny Al Jefferson wasn't playing...
just WOW!
ok im with you on the Coaches being total douchbags about not playing him...
but... its done and over with and too late.... Im not ok with even 2mil a year for 2 years... when we could just sign one of these non drafted bigs for less than a Mil.
also Nene had been battling all year and was probably in need of a break with the extra effort being made for the push into the playoffs...
Ike had rested all year for those 2 games...
you do well against a quality big once all year in ONE game and we should resign him??? wow!!!

Dude, you are acting as if Ike is getting a Beno deal at 5 mil for 5 years. A vey short term deal that's a bit higher than the minimum isn't that big of a deal. Calm down.
i have friends who were warriors fans who say ike is underrated and just never got enough PT. now he didnt get much pt here but at the end of the season he tried to make the most of it. im assuming most pro ike posters dont want to overpay for him, maybe try to sign him for the vets minimum or something. if we can get him cheap, im for it. id feel more confident in a guy who does well in practice against nba players, and he did well in the few games he played for us as opposed to giving the money to some undrafted rookie who has never stepped on the court. you say that we shouldnt pay the guy based on a few games in the nba and good practice, yet you want to pay people not good enough to even be drafted and never stepped on the nba court?
I think the Brockman pick might well have signaled an end to Diogu's tenure as a King, but if he could be kept, I'd have no problem. I love his tenacity and his heart. His production at the end of the year is all we have to go on for the simple reason he wasn't ours for most of the year. He stayed ready, though, and responded each and every time his number was called. I admire that.
As far as trading KT and Beno for a 7 footer, I don't think we have enough kool-aid left to get a GM to buy into that scenario.

Its a little early to be arguing about this. We may well trade for a big man and then it all become a moot point. So I suggest we wait an see what develops. If we were to sign him. I would be fine with 1 mil a year for two years and the second year is the teams option.
well its not just the Ike situation... its this team giving money to guys that really haven't proved a whole lot... Beno didn't prove his worth by playing well in a contract year... its statistically proven that many players (hard to believe) have career or near career years when its time to get paid...
Beno played a whole year and i wasn't convinced... Ike played 2 games that just seems so ridiculous to me that we would even consider bringing him back.
I will end this convo with this... The Maloofs are cheap as hell right now and wont pay him... thats that...
That would be a shame. The day Brockman puts up 30 and 11 in a game is the day hell freezes over. I do however really like Brockman for what he can do.
I think Diogu gets re-signed myself and he and Brockman pound Jason and Spencer in practice every day.
Hell can't freeze over twice. The day Ike got 30/11 was the first time it happened....
30 and 11 in a meaningless game in a contract year is hardly impressive.
People act like he's a scrub. He lead the pac 10 in scoring.

People act like he's a scrub. He lead the pac 10 in scoring. The dude's a post scorer, so he needs the ball and minutes to put up the numbers. That's why he hasn't been productive so far in his career. They haven't given him the ball, and haven't played him that many minutes. For a player like Scott Pollard who does nothing but rebound and get putbacks, that may be fine. But for a guy who is primarily a scorer, he's not going to impress when he doesn't touch the ball and only plays a few minutes. That's why he produced in those games because not only did he play big minutes, but they GAVE HIM THE BALL on the block, which he needs.
30 and 11 in a meaningless game in a contract year is hardly impressive.
And how many years ago was that?
Truth is, people act like he's a scrub because he's been a scrub his whole NBA career, outside of maybe a month or 2.
