Scholanda Dorrell

Purple Reign

Starter
It is early in the season, but I like what I see from Scholanda Dorrell. She is smooth as silk on offense, works hard on defense. Not quite as good as Chelsea Newton on D, but has the potential to be the best "2" guard this team has ever had besides Ruthie.

In the game against Seattle tonight, it just seemed like she knew exactly where to be at all times. She made her cuts with precision and she is very aggressive. Takes the ball to the rack and she has some range on her shot. Doesn't seem to force her shot as much as she did in previous games. Just works in the flow of the offense.

Another solid find for Coach Whisnant.:D

I talked to her after the game and complimented her on her play. Perhaps her motivation tonight was the arrival today and the presence in the arena of her adorable little girl! I'll post pictures later. What a cutie! She kept calling for "Mama" when she was on the court. :)

I am liking this player, too. She looks so comfortable out there already. She is pretty tenacious on D and looks quite smooth on offense. Isn't forcing shots, but looks unafraid to take 'em in the flow.
