I follow postseason happenings pretty closely (for instance, I know that Patrick Willis had knee surgery yesterday), and I didn't realize that they had signed David Carr. So know, 21, you're not the only one that's not excited about that.

I don't think they even made a press announcement about it, which strikes me as very confusing. And makes me wonder if there's a coorelation between the Carr signing and the rather surprising departure of Scot McGloughan.

they didnt announce it right away because he hadn't officially signed the contract yet, Carr was vacationing w his wife in Mexico until recently.

GM's name is Scot McCloughan* and as of right now it's a leave of absence which was granted by the team. It's believed to be linked to a messy divorce and custody battle over his 3 children. Sucks that its a month before the draft tho. the leave of absence could definitely become permanent

Like this Ted Ginn move. Even he never sees the field at receiver its a good deal. I think he gets in there as a #3 sometime soon though. Doubt he starts that way but I see him moving up past Hill and Jones.

Makes me feel better about the front office going into the draft. Had some concerns after Scot M. left.

I really wanted Dez Bryant (the sexy pick) with 17 to turn our offense into a potential machine, but as Coach Mooch said, in a few years we could have the best O-line in the NFL.
And a dominant O-line controls the game.

I am a fan of tonight's moves, and look forward to who else we get. Without any info about who the 9ers are looking at, Im hoping for Claussen or McCoy for our 2nd rounder! If not, Ill settle for Travis Mays.

^You mean Taylor Mays? I wouldn't hate him but if we go DB I would prefer a guy who can cover a little better. I see him as a strong safety and I think Goldson is better suited there but who knows. I'm convinced it should be defense and there are lots of places they could go.

Taylor Mays is really athletic, but he's not a fundamentally sound tackler, and he's not great in coverage. He'll be a huge player on special teams, and when Singletary gets his hands on him and puts him where he belongs in that defense, he'll make plays. I think it's a good pick, with all the top pass rushers gone.

Hmm.... this set off a few warning bells... would rather have seen the guy react professionally rather than this woe is me stuff...

Guess he's just a kid, and hopefully we don't have a prima donna on our hands (or Singletary can cleanse it out of him).
