There were times after last season when I would have been willing to pencil in Sampson as our starting SF and give him a real chance. His energy is infectious. But if we had him on this year's roster (as currently constructed), he'd be playing behind so many other players that he would probably only get garbage minutes. I'll bet Lebron would like to have him on his team.

Jakarr Sampson played admirably for the Kings, he doesn't really warrant a 2-way deal tho IMO. He's limited. I followed his college recruitment, which was a bit of a circus as he failed to meet academic requirements initially, and his 2 years at St Johns, where he managed to make 1 3pter total --- he's come a long way...

No doubt in my mind the Kings can do better with that 2-way deal though.

Sampson was the kind of player I like. Major effort all the time and making the most of his ability. Actually a great defensive presence at times and a fierce rebounder. Not quite athletic enough for the modern NBA. I wish him all the best.
