Sacramento Hornets....

So as you know, the Hornets are now owned by the NBA and are probably out of town after this season and as you know the Kings are doomed and bound to leave town if they can't get anything done so...

WHAT IF (like Marvel Comics)

Sacramento Kings picked up and went to Seattle and the Hornets were placed in Sacramento. How would you feel about that. I know, WHY NOT PUT THE HORNETS IN SEATTLE and call them the Sonics or something like that. I look at it as a fresh start for a city like Sacramento and Seattle gets a young team of new faces that they can learn to enjoy and just like most of us in High School its going to be hard to learn to enjoy this team, ha!

This is a fun scenario so don't go nuts with, WTF, NO WAY!

The NBA could always put the Hornets in Seattle, makes sense since there a WEST CONF team.

I would be super depressed. Seattle is one city I don't want the Kings to move to as a) they would surely change the team name and b) they are my adopted hometown's rival city - rooting for the Kings by any name in Seattle while living in Portland would be like rooting for the Lakers in Sacramento.

Also since Sac State already is the Hornets this one really had me scratching my head for a minute or two of course I get it now

1. the interim ownership is reportedly to facilitate the sale to owners who will keep the team in NOLA. So I doubt the hornets will be out of town by next season.

2. if the kings leave, there's no way the city gets another team...at least not for another decade.

I don't see why another team would humor the idea of moving to Sacramento when it is quite apparent that we can't even take care of the one we have/had.

If I remember correctly, the Sonic's, aka Thunder, left Seattle because they had no arena. As far as I know, they still have no arena, and therefore the NBA isn't going to put any team in Seattle. So I won't go nuts with it...

FYI, Actually there is a privately financed arena plan in place to be revealed in the next several months up there.

I think I'd welcome the Hornets. To me, it'd be like asking me if I would trade our entire current roster with their current roster. Which, I probably would.
