Monarchs Come Home Tied 1-1

I thought Ticha and DeMya were absolutely horrible tonight.

I thought Haynie was absolutely sensational tonight.

But mission accomplished as far as I am concerned. Tonight was destined to happen at some point. The team has literally been on the road for the last 8 days. IT IS TIME TO COME HOME FOR SOME GOOD OLE HOME COOKING.

Well we had a chance to win game 2, and we got game 1 convincingly, so I'm happy.

We will get them at ARCO, or at least we had better since Sunday's game will be the one game I go to this year.

Man, its as hard as it was after game 2 last year to look at it as mission accomplished. They gave this one back for some reason.

Gotta get it back together and lay the smack down on Sunday. Get that taste back in their mouths.

Someone really needs to call Ticha out.

I know I will get Mama pissed off at me but I am gonna say it.

Starting with DeMya... Lots of big turnovers. Bad passes... Can't happen.

But I am throwing Ticha under the Bus tonight.
Actually I blame Whiz more for going back to her when she didn't have it. She is gonna do what she is gonna do. He needs to have the courage to bring the hook. Not only that he stuck with a bad rotation way too long.

So I guess Whiz is under the Bus.

In the post game interview Detroit said that they played better defense because they backed off who they needed to back off of and stayed with who they needed to stay with.

Who do you think they were talking about. The Doubled Yo when she caught the ball. They Sagged down in the post. And that is how they beat us on the boards. They didn't back off, they refused to guard Ticha at all. Not for the Drive, the pass or the shot.
I would take that personally...


Second... Kara or Nicole has to be on the Court. One of them has to be on the court. Can't have Ticha and Maiga on the court. Can't have Ticha and Sho on the court without #20 or #14. And you damn sure can't have Ticha Maiga and Sho on the court. Doesn't work.

Bottom Line... Ticha you have to drive to the basket. Not expecting Jumpers all the time. But the Lane was open for you all game. Katie should have been in foul trouble.

Attack the basket or Sit the Hell Down.

Great Game By Haynie... Well she threw a few away but she played very well tonight.


Finally... 25-9 in the fouth Quarter. We Will never win with that.

We had them. We had them beat. Questioning themselves and Bickering with one another.
And we gave them the Ball game.

MOMMA Yo will have plenty to say about this I am sure.

These are thing we can fix. Game of adjustments.

But the good news is that we have 2 ball games at Arco. There will be a lot of us. We can get into their heads really easy. All that Noise.

Hell We wanted a Game 4 anyway.

I have to agree with you, when Ticha does not drive to the basket, it's like 5 on 4...she has to keep that defense honest. Make them pay...remember that double O.T win Ticha...go back & watch that film on how you took over!

DeMaya was off, Yo seemed content to stay outside the paint in the 2nd half?
Our shooters Kara,& Nicole were being guarded very tight...then they too need to be agressive & draw fouls.

Agreed. I lost count of how many times I yelled, "Attack Ticha!!!! Attaaaaaack!!!!" during the game. Very frustrating. Tonight she needed to make the Shock pay for their disrespect. Period.

the ole Ticha returned tonight, i was shaking my head. i hadn't seen that Ticha in two years at least. with any luck the Ticha from the last two years will be back at ARCO in couple of days and stay for awhile. but even as poorly as she played,...this game was locked up by half-time and the M's just for whatever reason gave it away in the second half....just didn't make sense. they looked like the Comets in the second half......deer in the headlights! gsheez!

I agree...if Detroit is coming out and pretty much saying they are daring Ticha to be aggressive now, then I think we'll get a sense the next couple of games just how badly Ticha wants a second ring. She's been publicly called out as a non-factor on a huge stage by her opponents.

We saw just how ridiculously lethal she can be when she takes something personal like that, the second OT against the Mystics was the best I'd seen her play individually since that string of games she carried the team on her back after Yo and Edna went down to start the 2002 season.

#21, are you going to let them punk you out like that? I think the answer to that is going to be a resounding hell no. Take yours Ticha, show them what you've got.
