After the Kings' stunning upset in Denver came without Ron Artest and with a commitment to sharing the ball that has been seldom seen this season, the Kings couldn't overcome their own star in a 114-92 loss to the Lakers Sunday night at Arco Arena.

The Lakers' Kobe Bryant, left, grabs the ball in front of Kings center Spencer Hawes, who scored 10 points. Bryant scored 29 points and was cheered heartily by fans at Arco.

The Kings' Mikki Moore (33) shoots over the Lakers' Lamar Odom in the first half of Sunday's game. Moore scored 10 points.

It’s not just once or twice, Ron allows the opponent to get in his head. He sees who it is and he wants to be the man, maybe he wants to show the other player that he’s better. He’s done this so many times, I wish the guy would just relax and allow the game to come to him instead of forcing himself in the game.

"The loss definitely was my fault. Being the leader on the team, I probably could've got my teammates involved a little more, probably could've made a couple more shots, did a lot of things a little bit better."

At least he blamed himself and showed that it was his fault. It doesn’t really change anything but hopefully he’ll learn that he has other teammates that can play. Teams win games, not individuals. If he played with the other guys on the team I’m sure we could have been in there. But the lack of ball movement and togetherness just brought us down.
