Sac/Wash/Phx...Would either team do this? Draft night deal

perezident

G-League
Sac trades: 09 1st, Jason Thompson, Kenny Thomas('10 expiring), Beno Udrih, Donte Greene.
gets: Amare' Stoudermire, Goran Dragic

Sac then trades their 09 2nd rounder, cash and Hou 1st for Phx 1st (14-19)

Why? Sac gets the disgruntled allstar PF, and he comes to a team where he can be the man (which he prefers). He quickly comes in and is the face of the franchise. Paring Amare with Kevin would give the kings a chance of rebuilding around a duo that could spell trouble. Dragic is nothing special imho, he's just a younger Beno with less the experience. Sac then Looks to FA to sign a PG, like Felton

Lineup
Hawes
Amare
Noc
Kevin
Felton?

With, McCants, Cisco, Phx 1st, Dragic,..coming off the bench

Wash trades: 09 #3, Andray Blatche, Nick Young, DeShawn Stevenson
gets: #1 from Sac, Jason Thompson, Donte Greene, Beno Udrih

Why? Wash gets 3 good potential stars in this league, in Blake JT and Greene. They give themsleves a nice young core to go with the big3 in Arenas/Butler/Jamison, and still be able to compete at a high level in the east. A projected future lineup of Javaris/Butler/Greene/Blake/McGee..with JT McGwire off the bench looks real promising imo.

Drafts Blake Griffin

Lineup
Haywood
Blake
Jamison
Caron
Arenas

With.. Greene, JT, McGee, McGwire..off the bench

Phx trades: Amare' Stoudermire, Goran Dragic: (*Seperate deal: Phx 1st, for Hou 1st, cash, 2nd rounder from Sac*)
gets: #3 from Wash, Andray Blatche, Nick Young, DeShawn Stevenson, Kenny Thomas('10 expiring)

Why? Well Phx gets alot of good value for Amare'. This I feel is also a good move for Amare who goes where he can be the franchise guy. Getting Blatche, Nick Young is a step forward to rebuilding but not blowing it up an starting over for Phx. Bringing in Stevenson, a good veteran presence who can hit the 3 ball is an extra added piece. Getting the #3 gives the Suns all sorts of directions they can go. They could draft Harden/Thabeet or even trade down by adding the #3 with Barbosa+filler for Vince? That would give the suns another try at contending.

Drafts Harden

Lineup
Shaq
Blatche
Barnes
Harden
Nash

With... Barbosa, Young, Jason, Hill..off the bench

* Lineup with the proposed Barbosa deal*
#3 Barbosa, Richardson for Vince

Shaq
Blatche
Vince
Stevenson
Nash

With...Young, Barnes, Hill off the bench

thoughts??

So, let me see if I got this right..

We trade: 2009 Top 5 pick, 2010 draft pick, our PF of the future, Our 2nd round pick, Our Houston mid-level pick, Donte (a poss piece of our future), a large expiring (KT) AND Beno (who, by your own admittance is exactly like Goran except with more exp.) AND Cash!

FOR

Amare, the Suns mid-level pick and a less experienced Beno...

??? :confused::confused:

Did I miss something?
How does this help us?

Well actually I was suppose to take out that future pick, I had it in place of our 09 1st, thanks i'll Edit it after this post.

NOW.... You're telling me (judging by your post) that you would rather JT over Amare?? Hope not. Houston's pick along with a 2nd rounder and cash I believe is a good deal to get Phx 1st. As you very well know Phx is losing games now and the level of the pick is increasing into a higher spot in this yrs draft. But wth do you mean by "AND BENO"??? Dragic, yes is a younger CHEAPER but less experience Beno. We send his horrid salary packing! Whats not to like about this deal, minus the future first round pick??

If we are getting rid of Beno, why would we want a younger version of him?

Why would you want the Suns pick when we already have the Rockets pick which will be, MAYBE, 1 or 2 spots down.. and in this draft, does 1 or 2 spots even matter? Not really, especially in the mid-range. On top of all that you are giving away a early 2nd rounder and cash too! I have no idea why you would do this.

And as far as the JT/Amare discussion... There is no possible way you could make the assumption that I want JT instead of Amare based on my post. I disagree with the trade simply because Amare is not worth selling our present and future for.

I think if the Kings were willing to deal the #1 pick, an expiring contract, and JT for Amare, the deal would have been done long ago; but the Kings are not and should not.

lol, i don't want that guy as my GM ;)

i don't know how much you keep up with the nba, its rumors but washington is contemplating selling their 1st round pick.

there is too much speculation and trade ideas right now when the lotto position hasn't been set. we'll have a better idea of what options there are after the draft lotto-

O comon now, don't be that harsh... Its not the worst trade ever. Still, I hate how so many people want to get rid of Thompson or Hawes so freaking soon before they have a chance. Both players have shown a great deal of promise, specially hawes as of late. You don't give up on big men who show promise as rookies. I understand that Amare' is good, but adding him to our team makes us a lower seed playoff team at best only to lose amare in a few years then be back to rebuilding again. I would much rather build a promising young team from scratch and rise through the ranks.

Lots of stuff in this thread... If we wanted to give up #1 + JT + Greene (which is WAY overpaying) we would have done it before trade deadline because as far as the rumors went I believe Kerr was asking for about this package (and actually a bit less but definately JT + #1 would have triggered the deal). You'll find most of us think it's either #1 OR JT not both. We can easily cut the Wizards out of this deal and go for Amare on our own if we wanted... So with that said even though we have the most assets to trade for Amare out of most teams I don't think we end up doing it because what they want and what we're willing to give up just don't ever meet up
