That in my opinion would be the best we could do this offseason,
those are all fair trades for both teams, and we get alot younger with 4 rookie projects to build on this year. I hope Petrie is reading all this.

Interesting ideas, Gary. Sure requires a lot of GMs to sign off, however. Anybody who could pull off a 5-team megatrade such as this would get my vote immediately for GM of the year!

So...

What's the depth chart, then?

C- Miller
PF- Thomas
SF- Battier
PG- Williams
SG- Martin
----
6- Wright, SF
7- Salmons, GF
8- SAR, PF
9- Belinelli, PG
10- Garcia, SF
11- Smith, PF
12- Williams, PF
IR- Sessions

I'd almost prefer getting a 2008 Draft Pick from Detroit, saving the roster spot for someone like Williams or Douby, and calling it good...

Miami pretty much gets the crappy end of this deal. Why would they do it? Don't they want either Ron Artest or Mike Bibby? I'm sure as hell they don't want to get mediocre players like Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes.

You have to include Douby. He's under contract through 2010.

Looking at that roster, we've gone from being guard-heavy to having pretty much NO guards. I don't like that at all. And if we can't do a 5-team megadeal and find a way to get rid of Kenny Thomas, we haven't solved one of our major problems.

Thanks for the revised rosters. The idea doesn't look nearly as good when it's out there in that manner.

that's a pretty nice start. not great, not horrible. however, i dont like giving up our number 10 pick. that could end up being an excellent player. someone other than Hawes might drop to us

Miami swapping Haslem and Williams for Gooden and Hughes? Can't see it happening. They're pretty much lateral moves, talent-wise, but Hughes has a considerably larger salary then Williams, and is locked in for several years, while Williams is expiring. Miami already has one salary albatross in Antoine Walker; don't expect them to pick up another, and lose a first round pick, when these moves aren't beneficial.

We are rebuilding its not going to look like you want it to right away it takes time. We would be fine for Guards, Salmons/Garcia/Belinelli can all play 3 positions and can all handle the ball.
Plus Douby& Martin.

Well, then I'll just state I don't like the way the roster looks, rebuilding or not.

:)

It doesn't get rid of either SAR or KT and it doesn't give us better movable pieces.

And remember, folks. There is no such thing as the IR any longer. Players are either active or inactive.

Valid points IMHO.

Welcome to Kingsfans.com, BTW. Glad to have you with us.

Hmmm, I don't know if I'm up for giving Shareef away, hes our only post threat, and he dosent whine, plus if we get some young bigs wouldn't it be nice to have Shareef mentor there post games.
I agree with what you said about KT but in all honesty we are just going to have to deal with KT, we had to get something in return for Webbers horrible contract, KT is the soul of that contract.

Webber's horrible contract would be a HUGE asset coming off the books. We have KT for three more seasons, including this one. Sorry, but that excuse lost any validity a long time ago.

Well then ill use the KT is horrible and no team is going to want him excuse, it would be nice too see him traded but I can't see it happening.

Was thinking of the Miami thing. The only reason I could see Miami doing it is that they get rid of an undersized PF for a PF that is of PF size. Gooden wouldn't be so bad if he just concentrades on playing D, and rebounding. I think he could be pretty decent if he concentrates on what he does best. Maybe looking at him being a late bloomer. Haslem has already peaked imo. He has nowhere to go but down.

As for Hughes for Wiliams. The Heat need a scorer outside of Wade when Shaq is out. Hughes can compliment Wade much more than Williams can. Hughes is a 23+ ppg scorer, and although he hasn't had a good FG% he does shoot the 3pt pretty well, and can play the point in stretches. Miami lacks outside shooting being that Wade isn't there yet. Hughes would be pretty decent on a team w/ shaq passing out of the post.

So for Miami, this is an upgrade for them. At both positions.

Yah, I am seriously thinking somewhere down the road KT will be called in the office and this is how the conversation will go...

Petrie: KT, you have one of two options... You can either;

A) Clear out your locker, go home, and wait for your contract to end and sign w/ another team..
B) Let us buy you out at 70% of what is remaining on your contract where you are fre to sign w/ another team.

If you choose "A" than you will not be allowed in the building, or in the practice facility. You will have to wait out the rest of your contract at home, or wherever before you can sign w/ another team.

Let's hope KT picks option B.

Houston isn't trading a significantly cheaper and sane Shane Battier for Artest. Artest only comes to Houston if the Kings take a bunch of worthless contracts and maybe a pick.

Cleveland out;
Larry Hughes
Drew Gooden
2008 1st round pick (lottery protected)

NBA rules prohibit Cleveland from trading their 2008 1st round pick - they've already traded their 2007 1st rd pick and teams cannot trade away 1st round picks in consecutive years. They could trade their 2009 pick thought.
