SAC and WAS

venom_7

Starter
Bibby @ 13mil (after he opts in) and Kenny Thomas @ 7mil
for
Brendan Haywood @ 5mil, Antonio Daniels @ 6 mil, and Darius @ 4 mil, and their 2nd round pick

Sac goes for it because:
Haywood is a decent defensive post, Daniels is a pass first point guard who also is a really good defender, and Darius can unclog the offense off the bench, and they get a 2nd round pick. Etan Thomas can be subbed in for haywood too, whichever way Was wants it.

Also ship SAR to chicago for a young guy or a pick.

Draft: Roy Hibbert, Taurean Green

Lineup
Daniels/Price/Green
K$/Salmons/Douby
Artest/Garcia/(some chicago player)
Miller/Songaila/Williams
Haywood/Williams

Was goes for it because:
Bibby and Arenas on the same team? Come on! They can move Gil to the 2, Caron at the 3, Jamison at the 4, and EThomas at the 5. Easy trade to make. They finally get that rebounder off the bench in KT (or so they think :o)

Lineup
Bibby/Mason/Taylor
Arenas/Stevenson/Blatche
Butler/Hayes
Jamison/KT/Hall
Etan Thomas/Ruffin/Boothe

This is something that benefits both teams and Was would be stupid not to be tempted.

This isn't a rebuilding type of move. Haywood and Daniels are signed through 2010, Songaila through 2011, and the Kings aren't getting any young players or prospects. And given the mediocrity of Haywood, Daniels and Songaila, I'd just assume let Bibby and KT's contracts expire rather than messing up the cap situation even further.

I don't know why we do it, and I really don't see a reason for the Wiz to do it. They need an upgrade at the 2, not the 1.

Of course as you stated, moving Agent 0 to the 2 is an option but he has been so successful at the 1 I don't see them making a change.

I am not a fan of "blowing it up". I think the team seriously is a PF away from contention again with a couple lineup tweaks.

1st tweak is get Artest the hell out of here. Play Cisco at SF. The guy brings energy/rebounding/steals/blocks/shooting to the SF position. Not a guy that sits there with the ball while otehrs pick their nose.

2nd tweak is to somehow someway somewhere get a PF in here that can play a little defense and guard the paint. Does not have to be a Webber clone but he does have to know how to score the ball.
*the only issue here is that it might take longer to get a PF here that will work well with Miller than how long Miller will be useful. We need a new C in here for the coming years. Williams is too small to play full time center. It would kick *** with a small lineup having Williams in there because our team would play big in the paint with a smaller center. But we need a PF in here. Maybe as part of the Artest deal we can pick up a 2nd rounder and get NICK FAZEKAS!!!

3rd tweak is Have SAR/Salmons main guys off the bench. We need a regular rotation, and guys that come off the bench. Add Williams to this list as well at PF or at C with a smaller lineup. This will keep us playing big even with a smaller lineup on the floor.

that first trade is horrible. prepare for the pitchforks if you were to pull the trigger on that one. i'd be one of em. i'm trying to look at it from all angles to see why in the world we pick up scrubs for bibby. he has more trade value than those 3 guys.. those are types of players you can pick up with your MLE.

we need to break this team up and pull in some young players to develop. this type of trade is what would land us exactly where we are NOW. some ok, maybe decent players thrown together as a "TEAM".

What ever you are on, I'll have some!!!!!!!!!!

I'm on "Reality" :)

Seriously. what's the difference between the lineup we had last year, and the one this year? Wells? I feel the demise of this team had a lot to do with the whole Bibby/Artest thing. Also with the coaching.

You take a guy like me at work. My production goes down by a good 40% when I have a horrible day. I just am not into my job, I don't want to be there, and the company pays the price.

Now you take a player who does not want to be there. The team suffers.

We have the players. We just have horrible chemistry. I seriously feel we could at least be a .500 team w/ Bibby/Martin/Garcia leading the way w/ a coach who uses the lineup to the best of it's ability and no player feuds. Artest was a cancer to this team. Regardless of how well he played late in the year he made others around him worse. Remove the cancer and you have a healthy team.

Give me a Martin/Garcia duo in the starting lineup and we are 40% complete. Throw in a defensive minded PF who can score a bit and Miller plays 100% better than w/o one. Put Miller along side of the worst defensive PF in the league (SAR) and he plays HORRIBLE.

This team is a couple tweaks from the playoffs. We made one of the tweaks in firing that turtle of a coach in Muss, the other hopefully will come soon when we show Artest the door.

that team last year made the playoffs as fodder. we may be a tweak away from the playoffs, but the team as a whole is still on the decline. making the playoffs shouldn't be the goal, eventual contention should be.

the last few years have been treading water; now we're fully sinking. we're not a "tweak" away from that transworld voyage just yet.

LoL, this team is not a change away from making the nba playoffs. The west is to deep and to good for us to make the playoffs in the next couple of years. If we just blow up this team now and come back together when the west is on its down time we will be a force again.
