S.I.: Kings' Hawes on the right track

Alright, this is obviously about a Sacto King and will stay up, but its obviously also about that King's politics. That makes this a toughie to avoid our "no politics" rule on this board.

My approach when this issue first came up right after he was drafted was to say that, whatever his politics, he should keep them to himself because (more than) half the fanbase is going to feel considerably differently, and his status as a professional ball bouncer hardly makes him an authority that we need to hear from on much of anything except ball bouncing.

If you can construct a similarly non-partisan response to this article, go for it. If you can't -- the no politics rule still reigns here, so best to just avoid this one.

I'd rather he kept his politics to himself. I do like his competitiveness, tho. I agree with Reggie that he has to be careful about thinking he knows it all already. To improve he needs to have some humility along with that competitiveness.

How about an article on Hawes being on the right track rather than the right track?

I thought there were some insightful, non-political blurbs in there. Like Theus asking Hawes to develop his dominant hand and let everything else work off of that. I like that Hawes has an edge to his personality, hopefully he can one day harness it.

Though I have to say, with a non politics rule on KingsFans as it is, it's kind of strange to see Prop 8 being advertised over and over again on the site.

I think the ads are placed by the ad company, not the website owner or anyone else associated with the site.
