Rookie vs. Sophomore Game Thread 2/18/2011

That was a cheap shot by Sager and it wasn't true. Ciz doesn't get angry when he doesn't get the ball. Tell the fans the kind of game Cuz had and shut up. The story was his game. Props to Wall. THAT'S a team mate. There's nothing like showing your unhappiness at what an announcer has just said about your ex-team mate. Priceless.

Nice. I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to capture that screen.

Sager's comment was a double jab. The first at Cuz and the second part a jab at Reke. Sager must have some steely bodyguards to go with those ties.

I hope that when Cousins becomes a star and Craig Sager interviews him Cousins gives him some Shaq-like **** comment.

I stand by my statement that it was co-MVP, whether it was announced or not.

Edit: Missed the statement by Craig Sager, did he just bring it up out of the blue or what?

Are we talking about the same Charles Barkley that put down Demarcus in order to defend Paul Westphal?!

That's the one! I am a Barkley fan, always speaks his mind and is straight forward... even if he doesn't make sense sometimes. Never afraid to say he was wrong or stupid either.

He's in the Walton category of people who I'll listen just on the off-chance that they'll say something really outlandish (which they usually do).

Im glad Cousins got some good publicity for once. Craig Sager mentioned DMC as being co-mvp, but then he threw in that jab for no good reason. Also was nice seeing Chuck make the point about Cousins being MVP

Meh, guys like Sager and Gray have to go to extremes to stay relevant. They couldn't hack it playing it straight, so they have to be douchebags, wear crazy clothes, pull stunts and go to extremes to stay in the game. It's really just a testament to their lack of competence and professionalism more than anything.

There are actually a few really cool videos about Demarcus Cousins on the Kings website. Lots of stuff from this weekend including a video of him working with Mchale. I may be in the minority, but I wouldnt mind bringing him is as the coach next season if he's interested. He's deffinetly on my short list.

Not as head coach or GM, that's for sure.

McHale got robbed in Minny. Right when he turned the corner and put them on a tremendous road to rebuilding he gets canned and Mr. "I'm going to lessen the odds of drafting a bust by drafting multiple players at the same position year after year/Darko is a better passer than Chris Webber" took over. Huge mistake firing McHale when they did, he had it right, people bombed on some of his moves and he was proven right.

Got a link? I can't find em

The only two reasons I watched this game was because of Wall and Cousins and both did not disappoint! Boy how fun would it be if we can have a pass first pg like Wall? or something close to it because obviously guys like him and Paul don't come around too often. As for DeMarcus, he was hitting mid range and just doing his thing, and hey...his double double streak keeps living on even on all-star weekend! By the way, that cheap shot by Sager in the end wasn't necessary, for a second there I'm thinking did he just call Cuz out and he did, Cuz either looked like he was spacing out or was pissed off. Wall's face was priceless, hahaha!

A nice little interview with Webb about DeMarcus:

Kevin McHale with a bit more of a subjective take:

And finally, Derrick Favors attempts to downplay the fact that he is currently an also-ran:
