Rondo interview after game last night

I dont know, Rondo I guess famously has had this dark macabre sense of humor and deadpan delivery. Also hates the media and was probably trolling(kinda telling them what they want to hear, instead of giving standard athlete responses). He also famously fought with Doc all the time as well, so im sure he and Karl will butt heads too. He's been playing well, I wouldnt look too much into this unless Karl plays it up too.

Unfortunately if this was a joke, its back on us again as it just hit the national headlines, where of course it is going in spin cycle because it fits the narrative, and so will be blown all out of proportion and talked about for days as signs of the imminent return to dumpster firing.

Well it was being discussed on 1140 this morning

either way its not good

a. Rondo was joking giving a BS answer to a rookie reporter that didn't bother to ask a follow up question
Shame on you Rondo - with social media today even a bad joke spins out of control Watch what you say please!!!

b Rondo was giving an honest answer?
Shame on you Rondo - even if they were minor disagreements you should keep it between You and Karl and not discuss it with a reporter

Who was interviewing him by the way?

It seemed like he had questions written down and just checked them off along the way. Hmm, so your relationship with Karl isn't going well? That's interesting. Anyway, on to question five.

Not to pick on the guy too much but it didn't even seem that far removed from Chris Farley interviewing celebrities on "The Chris Farley Show" on SNL. "Remember that time you were on the Celtics and won a championship? That was awesome. Do you think you could win another one?"

I don't think he's trolling. We've been in so much denial... at least he sees that there is a problem and is trying to fix it.

Hope things can all work out.

My question is where was James Ham, Jason Jones? Dont these guys follow the team? How was this novice the only reporter covering the game? But yeah cmon man, a player tells you he and the coach are arguing and the next question you ask is "Are you excited for the season?" No wonder he got a deadpan response.

@GrantNapearshow: As I first thought I've learned that Rajon Rondo's comments about George Karl last night were purely in jest! This is an absolute non story!

Will we see a correction or retraction by all those outlets who were so quick to publish the headline stories this am? I highly doubt it.

Furthermore, how can the authors of this clip, Cowtown Royalty, consider themselves supportive of the Kings and intentionally create and release a false clip that would hurt the team?

He didnt, its a novice that was naive and thought he was breaking a story. Also Cowbell Kingdom as I have come to know it is not a fan site that is there to support the organization. I dont like James Ham, but some of his work was important(PDA podcast). Unfotuantely they gave the reigns of that site to fan bloggers.

Four days ago George Karl goes public telling everybody he had no problem letting RR draw an offense game for Beli (and RR wasn't even on the court...), yesterday RR goes pranking that "reporter" and the Rondo-haters nation has jumped at such a silly trolling bait... Priceless :)

It shows you how much the national media is chomping at the bit to get us. In a sense they are much worse than this novice reporter. This guy was clearly naiave, national media clearly isnt but they dont care, anything for those juicy clicks.

Good one Rajon! I love it - I deadpan like that all the time. It's fun. Yes you can inadvertently hurt feelings by doing it - and he has certainly made some freaker outers look silly which I love - but it is just a way that smart people have fun at dumb people's expense sometimes.

Actually I bit on it initially but I didn't think it was a big deal even if Rajon was being dead serious. But it is completely credible that he was dead-panning, he's the type to do it.

He's also the type to go much more explosively if/when there really IS a serious quarrel with the coach or a teammate.

I wasn't worried about it before - but now hearing that it was a joke - I love the team chemistry even more.

Do the refs become more bias from these kind of stories? Not sure if the laugh is worth that risk, but if I had to choose, then I'll go with yes. Well played Rondo!

A bunch of nobodies has tried to make a living on the "Dallas-Rondo" case and nothing is hurting them more than seeing how the Kings are coming up nowadays. RR could go on triple-double winning games 15 nights on a row, yet some of those "bright minds" will find out that "RR is a cancer, preventing his team to win 16 straight games".
