I'm not even sure his defense is better than dc anymore.

Its not.

Rondo just isn't a good PG anymore. As MassKingsFan said, he's not even close to the defender he was during the prime Boston years and is just an average defender now. And that's when he wants to be. He still can't shoot/score a lick. And he requires a lot of ball dominance to be effective as a passer.

Give me DC and his consistency across the board in pretty much everything over Rondo's huge flaws. Rondo has been living off his name since the 2011-2012 playoffs.

I love boogie but if he honestly thinks rondo is the best of in the league right now, he's flat out wrong. And if we're playing the "expert" game, I'm pretty sure most of the players and FO's in the league would also disagree.

That's just Boogie staying loyal to his UK boy (Remember his Final Four selections?). If you asked him today, he'd probably say the best PG is Wall now.

Well, we probably should value Cousins' input just a little bit considering he's our franchise player and he's obviously not stupid. And it happens to be the case that Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Wall, Irving et al are not unrestricted free agents right now and Rondo is. Maybe Cousins likes Rondo a little more because he's a Kentucky alum and they've played in exhibition games together before, maybe he values him more than the NBA "experts" because he's a consistent leader in assists and some of us (I'll put myself in that category) still believe the primary role of the PG is to initiate the offense and create good looks for their teammates. I don't know if DeMarcus wants to play with Rondo or not, but if he does and it's economically feasible and both Rudy and Karl are enthusiastically on board as well (that's a lot of ifs I know) than we should be considering it.
