I have no idea which way to guess on this one. I'm not going to this game so, fortunately, I don't have to decide what I would do. :p

Are we supposed to be pretending that this is his first game back at Arco since getting traded? Are we also going to have a "Will Drew Gooden be cheered or booed" poll when we play the Mavericks?

You forgot the most important option: Who cares? Artest is truly yesterday's news. I'm pretty sure most people have totally moved on... I wouldn't boo him or cheer him.

Oh, believe me. There were a lot of people around here who awarded Artest "most hated" status long before he went to LA.

My hatred for the Lakers, much like my love of the Kings, is about the name on the front more than the name on the back. Booing him would just encourage him to do even more stupid stuff... Cheering him would just be silly. Affording him no more or less than any other player on a visiting team is the best way to go IMHO.

Don't worry, I'm not going to be there anyway. :)

Don't forget that #21 hangs in the rafters at Arco and Vlade was one of the most beoloved kings of all time. He started and ended his career a Laker. As far as Artest goes. I am on the who cares bandwagon. Many players have come on gone.

Vlade is an exception because of his character and the devotion he gave to this team and it's fans.

Artest... well. Not quite in the same league as Vlade.

Last time I checked, Ron's last name isnt Divac.

So, I'm not driving 360 miles from Los Angeles just to cheer on a Laker.

No can do.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I hope Arco won't be dominated by Laker fans like last season
Unfortunately, I expect it will. Even when we were packing sold out arenas, there were far too many Laker fans there. I used to have season tickets two rows away from a family that also had season tickets, but on Laker games, they wore their awful Laker junk. Lots of people move up to Sac from LA for work or less expensive housing and maintain their Laker loyalty. Too many people.

I picked 'cheered', I think it will be a mixed bag of boos and cheers...which is more than I can say for what Mr. Bryant will recieve.:D

edit: I really hope there's not 10,000 obnoxious, egotistical, disrespectful Laker 'fans' in attendance at this game like the last time they were here.

FYI...he wasn't traded. Not that that has anything to do with anything. :p

As a Laker fan, I've never liked Ron, but have been surprised at the lack of drama from him......so far. Don't know how long it will last...hoping for the best but not holding my breath.

Indeed he was signed, not traded, Hoopsie!:) Are you going to the game, btw? I hope there will be few more decent actual Laker FANS there like yourself.

As a new guy, I noticed that there is a lot of resentment whenever Artest's name comes up in this forum. Would anyone care to explain to me the what the history is between Artest and the Kings (besides the obvious fact that he is no longer a King...)?

I'll refer you to the archives rather than try and explain the whole sordid mess. It's not simple; it's not easily explained. You're much better off to just take some time and explore the threads. We've moved on and a discussion of him at this point would undoubtedly just open up some old resentments, etc.

I wouldn't boo or cheer. But I won't be there so I won't vote. I suspect it will be a little of both.

Thanks Circa, but no I won't be going to the game on the 26th.
(Though I will be going to the Dallas game with the group from KF!)

After my last experience of a Laker game at Arco, I won't do that anymore.
