I don't know.
I can tell you the name change thing is in fun, dont look to far into it. I've been trying to steer our "visits" into a less serious mode, trying to have some fun with the possibly limited time there is left for the Ron shows.
I've already said before, I'm obviously biased, but sometimes all the "crazy", "insane", and "psycho" comments are a little low for this board. I've always understood this board to be a place where personal attacks on a King aren't tolerated, but perhaps its only on a King that most people like, the rest are fair game.
One thing I've learned from "quality time" with Ron.....he's a person.
Yes, a strange, unique, maddening, weird, and many times frustrating person....but a person nonetheless. Just a guy who is trying very hard to clean up his image.
Yes, he fails at times. Yes, the see-saw battles and constant media attention can get weird, but the heart is usually in the right place. We don't all have the comfort of anonymity, and love him or hate him: he sure as heck puts himself out there, and we get to sit back and watch.
I am also sympathetic to Kings fans who believe he is a distraction because of this, and want him gone. I think every player is open to criticism, its the price they pay for making tons of money.
I just shake my head at some of the anonymous personal shots, most of which are unfounded, that he and no doubt his kids read about at times.
Yes, he could do better at controlling them himself. But he wants to have fun, and I think he has been successful (at least locally) at changing his image from the "dark, brooding, violent thug" of Detroit days. What has he changed it to? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure its a kinder, gentler, but still very frustrating version.
To each his own, I just wish the "crazy" and "insane" stuff would be controlled more. Again, I'm pretty sure that's always been a rule here, but I could be way off. I browse other websites with MUCH worse verbiage, that's for sure. KF has just always been the gold standard (not the lame gold that sucks on jerseys, by the way.)
