Ron Artest

Taz, I'll be the first to admit that I had STRONG doubts about Artest. Many of us did. However, you must admit that since the first time he took the floor in a King's jersey, he has been welcomed with open arms!!! I am VERY glad to say that I was WRONG!!! My like for him is quickly turning to love!!

Ditto.

I will be the first to admit I was wrong.

It is, you understand, a manly, sports fan, platonic kind of love you're talking about here, right? :D ;)

hahahahaha! Yes, it hit me tonight that I really must be sure to always have fresh batteries!;)

we never questioned his skills. However we were questioning his "mental fitness" I still do. There is still a chance down the road of something happening. So far everything is great and I hope - it stays that way for a long time. However, we have to be prepared for anything at any time.

lol...trust me...what went on a few months ago was far more than just "questioning"....there was nothing remotely resembling a question...just one disparaging comment after another....

nevertheless...no need for the disclaimer piksi....all that is is a safety net, so that if something does happen, someone can say i told u so....

thats no way to live life...let alone follow a basketball teams....its not any different than the risk players might get injured and dramatically impact a team.....there simply are risks....

its ok to love the guy for his game....forget about what ifs and what have u....

ron has single handedly transformed this team's attitude and performance level.....

what if bonzi goes bonzi again??? what if brad gets hurt late in the season again??? what if kmart never gets better on the road?? what if bibby never learns to play defense?? u can go up and down the line on every roster, and say what if....

whats the point?....enjoy it for all it is....the whole point is....the impact ron brings is far superior to most any other player in the league....does he come with risks??? sure...they all do....so which would u rather take a risk on???? a guy that is championship caliber talent and one of the very few truly special players in the league or just another average to above average player????

to me its a simple choice....everyone has negatives...just very few have as many positives as ron....

im a positive person....therefore i dwell on the positives....life works out a lot better that way....

and so does the kings record....;)

and damn...its just so fun to watch....

I am sure most everyone had doubts, I sure did, and I am still prepared for the absolute worst. But the day Ron became a King he had my support and I am positive the same could be said of most Kings fans.

I have a question....Is it possible to give Ron a contract extension through 2020?

lol....

no...but if things continue the way they are now...i would say its highly likely he re-signs in a couple years for a max deal for 6 more years in sac town....;)

has nothing to do with "I told You so". totally irrelevant. I am a Kings fan. I want the best for my team. I will support every player that plays for the Kings as long as that player contributes. Ron has been nothing but great so far and i would be happy if that continues for a long, long time. As long as he "behaves" and plays like this - I could care less what he says, what he sings or what he wears. Hell, if he continue this way - i will even buy his CD:eek:.
disclamer or no disclamer - we are a very small market team that is still new to winning. We can not affort the same thing that happened to Pacers. Wheather You like it or not - there will always be a concern. Will see how things go Friday.

Now back to enjoy the victory against the best NBDL team around

lol...dont misunderstand...ur one of the guys that ive enjoyed the most watching how much passion and love ur showing for his game....uve done a 180.....and its cool to watch one of someones biggest critics do a 180....

there are concerns with everyone....i doubt ron is the only one ur concerned about on the kings....i think its kinda cute the way u throw that disclaimer in there....hey, if i had done a 180, i probably would to...;)....nevertheless, its not the point...the point isnt about being right or wrong about the whole thing....and thats what im trying to say....the point is its just so fun watching the guy play, watching the kind of impact hes had on a team that was lottery bound, and its so fun watching some of his biggest critics enjoying him so much......

ill say it again...whats not to like....

now....as much as u might hate the lakers....i dont think uve got much to worry where theyre concerned....they simply dont match up well with the kings now....especially with mihm out....and once garcia gets back, that will be even more obvious....

I don't think anyone ever doubted his skills. Artest himself said it was a gamble to take him on, and his behaviour over the last few years would make any fan reluctant. I wanted Artest from the getgo, I knew he was an impact player but not to the extent that has bee displayed so far. Wow

way to happy to argue here.

I don't see any 180 change at all. We knew that he was good and that he was/as headcase. Nothing has changed. What do You expect - to root for him to fail ? We support our players and we are really happy when they do well. And we will support Rone even more now

As for the Lakers - it is not enough that we beat them over and over again. I want to see them in the lottery, year after year after year

Then I will be the second to admit you were wrong...:p

Ok seriously though I had my dowbt about Ron's ablity to to cfocus and just play the great ball I knew he had the tallent for... So far he has been awsome doing EXACTLY that. I love the guy too... in a mocaho manly non-sexual way of course...

might as well lock him and Bonzi up at the same time! Who woulda thunk it...the 2 bad boys of the NBA turning EVERYTHING around and being the fighting force behind making a team playoff competitors?? WAR RON RON, WAR BONZI!! (and his mole) lol :D

I love how Artest tapped into the Kings-Lakers rivalry and made it his own by calling out Kobe before the game.

That's what great players do - they win the mental game and bring it onto the court.

...and foretaz - you're setting yourself up for a huge "i told you so" if artest should go nuclear, which is BY ALL MEANS possible.

We should just enjoy this while it lasts, and if it doesn't, the Maloofs will just have to make another genius move. :)

lol...if ur arguing, ur the only one...i know im not....just glad to see some of u who said alot of negative things about him before, be so enthused about him now....

as far as supporting ur own players, i dunno....i personally would probably never call one of the players on my own team a headcase if i was supporting him....i dont think that sounds very supportive....but hey..thats just me....to each his own....thats the beautiful part of being a fan....we have different ways of expressing our support....

i didnt realize this was a contest to determine whether or not artest will go 'nuclear' or not....and i also didnt realize i had entered that contest and placed a bet, one way or another....

I bought one of these little Outriders a few years back when I was doing research out on the west side of the valley. Leave it in the sun on a window sill and it stays compleetly charged. If you run it out a couple dozen turns of the crank and you have over an hours worth of juce... dependable, enviormently kind, and cool!

as You can see - we all pretty much bet that everything will go well. We really want it to go well. None of us (in the right state of mind) would ever want to see another blow up. That is why we will all continue tha support
