If this is true - and I have no reason to doubt you, Purple - I suspect there are going to be a few unhappy campers. I, on the other hand, think the game against Minnesota made this inevitable and I even had the foresight to predict it to a couple of friends.

good for rick! glad to here he got the extension he wanted. that shows trust from the maloofs and co., and i'm sure RA really appreciates it. its nice to hear that successful coaches can still be granted extensions, because it seems like everywhere else in the nba is busy firing and hiring new people. now RA's got the rest of this season and next to further prove that he is indeed a winner. great week so far for the kings!

Let me preface this by saying I am a hater. With that said, Bad move. Why not wait until the end of the season??? It's not like he's a hot coaching commodity. Now that his job is not on the line it's back to 45 minutes a night for the starting 5 and the bench will barely get a sniff.......horrible.

Also, if we have another early playoff exit my season tickets can go to someone else and I just let the Maloofs know this.....

Not a hot coaching commodity? See that is where the cognitive diconnect comes in with Sacto fans. Coming off of 5 straight 50win seasons (including this one presumably) if Rick hits the open market he is about as absolutely guaranteed of another job next season with somebody as a coach can be. You see, he's PROVEN he can win at the NBA level, and win pretty damn big at that.

P.S. I'm glad to know that ou keep your Kings season tickets for the sole purpose of securing seats for the Finals.
