I like this show, even though it's a pretty blatant ripoff of a show that was on a couple of years ago.

You know, guy sent back from hell to bounty-hunt escaped souls? I can't remember the name of the previous series, but I think they've done a pretty good job of adapting it.

Nope. That wasn't the one I was thinking of. I'll have to google it when I get home this evening. I think there was something about tattoos of each soul he had to recover or something...and when all the tattoos were gone, he would be free of his obligation to the devil.

Yeah, not very original... sort of like the new show Moonlight... How many times have we seen the Vampire crime fighter? Forever Night comes to mind but Im sure there were more.

Oh yes I forgot "Blood Ties", Angle, Blade and one could even argue Dark Shadows.

Forever Knight was probably the first. The last was Angel. I'll watch the premiere, however, because I think it could be interesting if it doesn't take itself too seriously.



Dark Shadows had a vampire in it, but was a soap opera and had nothing to do with crime fighting. I used to drive my mother nuts waiting for Barnabas Collins to come on every afternoon. Unfortunately, it is so dated that watching it now on the occasional cable/satellite channel is nothing like I remember.

LOL, yeah caught a few episodes of DS on cable one night... not like I remembered either. But if memeory serves correct Barnabus was innitially a villian who was so popular that as the series progresses he became the hero of the show often coming to the aid of other charaters in the series.

Yeah there were more than a few similaritys but to be fiar I think Brimstone was in production by the time the film went into producion... probably readers of the graphic novel... which was MUCH better than the film.

I thought it was ok. Reminded me somewhat of GvsE which I liked better, but I put it on the DVR schedule for now.

So far the best new show I have seen this season is Life.

I'm not much of a fantasy fan but Reaper held my interest enough with it's goofiness that I'll watch it again.

Reaper is damn funny. The national TV critics gave it the best new show of the season nod, which means it will be axed in about a month. It reminds me more of a movie than a TV show - like a slob comedy with those loser characters.
